mikeprice Posted May 9, 2017 Posted May 9, 2017 Hmmm - some people seem to have had a LOT of time available in 'the old days' and they complain abou tthe kids of today being on X-Boxs for too long!!
synaesthesia Posted May 9, 2017 Posted May 9, 2017 It wasn't easy to sit in front of text based adventure games, wireframe speedy things or Jet Set Willy for large periods of time. Generally you'd hammer the keyboard/computer/joystick (which would do more damage to you or your furniture than the item itself, carrying on working) and then run off out to jump on a rope swing somewhere.
MrEprise Posted May 9, 2017 Posted May 9, 2017 @localzuk Yes, the third one is Kye. There was a Windows version of it. I played it several times over then attempted to make my own levels which only required a text editor to make them.
sted Posted May 10, 2017 Posted May 10, 2017 One of the finest, hardest, and most underrated games ever made. Boy did you need a lot of time to play it! i think patience was more the issue. I suspect i could of played it 10 years ago when i had patience now if i forced myself when i was 12 yeah i think i just tied to create big explosions lol It wasn't easy to sit in front of text based adventure games, wireframe speedy things or Jet Set Willy for large periods of time. Generally you'd hammer the keyboard/computer/joystick (which would do more damage to you or your furniture than the item itself, carrying on working) and then run off out to jump on a rope swing somewhere. not to mention joystick waggling/destroying games then that destroyed joysticks and anything in the area the joystick could be used as a bludgeon against lol

Games Super Maze Wars Net Trek Kye Munchies Harry the Handsome Executive Toys Sim Stapler! Jared I had so much fun playing all those. Especially Sim Stapler.
EliteCommander Posted May 10, 2017 Posted May 10, 2017 One of the finest, hardest, and most underrated games ever made. Boy did you need a lot of time to play it! Just checked and for those of you on steam, here it is. Carrier Command: Gaea Mission on Steam
Tesla Posted May 10, 2017 Posted May 10, 2017 could be myst? Correct! Tried not to do an obvious screenshot at first.
sted Posted May 10, 2017 Posted May 10, 2017 Correct! Tried not to do an obvious screenshot at first. lol well if it helps that last one must of been obvious as ive never played it or seen more than an odd screenshot/box lol
ICTDirect_Dave Posted May 10, 2017 Posted May 10, 2017 Just checked and for those of you on steam, here it is. Carrier Command: Gaea Mission on Steam This is the version I Remember It required much patience, and a degree of skill. Especially as the damned enemy Carrier seemed to be able to traverse the map much more quickly than mine! Okay, here's my contribution. What's this?

It's Lander for the Acorn Archimedes. EDIT: Went looking it up and didn't realise it got released as Zarch. The version I played at Primary School was the tech demo which was called Lander. Edited May 10, 2017 by MrEprise
localzuk Posted May 10, 2017 Posted May 10, 2017 You didn't see my post earlier then? I named at least one. Ah yeah. Loved Kye. Was just a good puzzler all round really!
Tesla Posted May 11, 2017 Posted May 11, 2017 I'm not sure how popular this game was: ChuChu Rocket
Tesla Posted May 11, 2017 Posted May 11, 2017 Popular enough then! It was a free game on the Dreamcast I still have it.
bald_pig Posted May 11, 2017 Posted May 11, 2017 It was a free game on the Dreamcast I still have it. Only if you bought the Official Dreamcast Magazine! I still have it somewhere as well, although my DC has seen better days...
ICTDirect_Dave Posted May 11, 2017 Posted May 11, 2017 It's Lander for the Acorn Archimedes. Yes it is! figured it was a good starter for ten... try this one:
EliteCommander Posted May 11, 2017 Posted May 11, 2017 Could be a very strange angle of a Python from Frontier:Elite 2, but I'm thinking it's on a BBC or Acorn. Any clues ?
localzuk Posted May 11, 2017 Posted May 11, 2017 How about this one, following with the flight games.
