That's the one!

A whole 40Mb in a card smaller than a a PCMCIA slot. Renamed "PocketZip" after the "Click of Death" lawsuit.

Ooh lovely... I think I assumed at the time it was something PCMCIA related, but just assumed it was a whim purchase by the head at the time who liked his gadgets...

This is one I wasn't aware of before (a tech before its time) today.

Try and guess who powered the innards of these watches.

MSN - thought I cheated... I'd've never have guessed! If they'd come with metal straps I would have probably considered one years ago...

Looks like an exchangeable disk drive. Takes me back to my ICL mainframe days.

Yup - actually from a Honeywell machine - in those days I must have had muscles like Arnie from lifting the 300MB disks in and out!!

Out of interest, how much did those disks cost at the time?

Yes, me too, carrying two at a time at the end of the shift to get them put away in the rack. Dreading the horrible screeeching sound that meant a head crash.

I remember carrying 2 at a time in carrying cases across car parks at remote sites

they 'had to be allowed to acclimatise' for a hour or so when we got there - otherwise known as having a coffee in the operators rest room!

Ok here's a nice easy one

I had one of those, mine was blue and white I think... it was an ace racing game! (well it was ace back then!) Can't remember what it was called though...

I love how everyone had one but can't remember the name of it, I was the same it took me a good few minutes of googling before I found what it was called and my Mum used to do the PR for the division of the company that made these, so you'd think I'd know considering I had like 5 or 6 of them.

it looks like a seatbelt clip but I don't think that would qualify as the tech required for this thread.

Is it a cartridge of some sort?

Yay! after reading through 22 pages of this thread to make sure I didn't post anything for the second time, I can finally play! :)

Here's a first from me.
