'Sky viewers also won't be able to see Tattoo Girls from next Wednesday'.

Rubbish, there are loads of them in town... ;)

'The following Discovery channels will vanish from Sky from February 1:

Discovery HD

Discovery History

Discovery Home & Health

Discovery Science

Discovery Shed

Discovery Turbo

DMAX

Eurosport1

Eurosport2

Investigation Discovery

Quest

TLC

Animal Planet'

Ouch... some of them are good stations.

Yes they are old, but the ones on Discovery HD are the new ones (but not quite as good as the earlier ones)

The only programs I actually watch are Gold Rush, Insane Pools and Tanked all of which are on Discovery or Animal Planet! I think I will cancel the Sky subscription unless they sort that out

The downside is that I haven't got a Ariel. (New build house)

I watch quest, turbo and dmax.

Will be sad but will be looking at moving away from sky once movies half price offer is over.

90% Of TV i watch anyway is available online! Netflix mainly plus iPlayer.

I only really watch TV on a TV when i have my dinner! and even then i just watch whatever is on, which is normally Wheeler Dealers on Quest

Sky was great for years, but now? I cancelled it back in 2013, i had seen almost everything, the repeats became silly, then a +1 hour incase you wanted to watch a repeat of the repeat. Which was repeated the day before anyway.

Freesat or Freeview, with iPlayer, 4OD , Netflix and maybe Amazon prime is more than enough for my needs now and cheaper than having Sky, and with Netflix and iPlayer no adverts YEY!

The only thing I really wanted sky for F1. We do watch a lot of box sets but can get that elsewhere. Gonna cancel next month - they can offer me a great deal or I'll leave. It's quite a nice position to be in

Can I leave Sky because of this?

As this is such a big change to subscribers, it could mean you could get out of your contract, due to it not being what you signed up to. I'll keep an eye out for any announcements. Usually Ofcom will have some input regarding these sort of things
Well. That was lived:

Even more to enjoy with Sky

Great news, we can confirm that Sky will continue to carry the Discovery and Eurosport channels. This means you can still watch channels including: Animal Planet, Discovery HD, Discovery History, Discovery Home & Health, Discovery Science, Discovery Shed, Discovery Turbo, DMAX, Eurosport1, Eurosport2, Investigation Discovery, TLC and Quest.

We are also delighted to announce a new deal with PBS America that will bring the best of PBS's factual programming to Sky, covering history, science, current affairs, arts and culture. We are adding over 1,000 hours of programming to our On Demand service from channels like History and National Geographic. This means our customers can enjoy the very best factual programming available.
Earlier ones are better anyway (he says not seeing any of the new ones)

Definitely. Season 12 onwards is part in the US, part in the UK and I don't enjoy it so much like that. American cars just don't interest me that much - don't know why really, but it seems to lose appeal a bit when they are working on car models you've never heard of.

I like the nuts and bolts mechanical stuff in the earlier series' too - too much of the later ones is just doing resprays etc! Style over substance.
