Bought some new jeans and thought...what happened to the smell that new jeans used to have? Where I werra lad, I remember Levi * Wrangler denim having a strong distinctive smell that only faded after several washes - whatever happened to that?

It was the dye additive, but it's now banned as it gave second degree burns to those with sensitive skin

Perhaps you can still buy it in canned form like the new car smell?

Actually said this on Saturday when various members of the family were off to Record Store Day. I did recently get a vinyl player in order to be able to make use of some of the obscure vinyl in the house, but can't understand the current vogue for it.

I've always been into it in a small way, but I had most of my music digitally for sheer convenience. My FIL has recently downsized and has donated my Wife and I his 70's HiFi setup which is really very, very special (it cost about the same as a family car in the 70's) so we've got into it in a big way now and we use it as a way of destressing when the child has gone to bed.

If I had the time/money I'd happily convert/buy everything I have on vinyl/CD to digital. If nothing else, it saves so much space!
