mrbios Posted November 7, 2016 Posted November 7, 2016 A couple of reports, but not all, are crashing every time regardless of whether they're run by an admin or teacher. It appears to be an issue which is machine specific. I've tried reinstalling sims, and i've fully updated office on both my test machine and the machine with the issue, however i can't recreate the issue on my test machine for some reason. The error is pretty unhelpful: Faulting application name: excel.exe, version: 15.0.4867.1000, time stamp: 0x57d78f3d Faulting module name: excel.exe, version: 15.0.4867.1000, time stamp: 0x57d78f3d Exception code: 0xc0000005 Fault offset: 0x00007671 Faulting process id: 0x16d4 Faulting application start time: 0x01d236aa59c8270d Faulting application path: C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Office\Office15\excel.exe Faulting module path: C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Office\Office15\excel.exe Report Id: 9ba223e7-a29d-11e6-b71d-bc5ff46af59b Anyone have any suggestions?
Chrish5 Posted February 2, 2017 Posted February 2, 2017 What was the fix as I'm having similar issues (same exception code at least) on at least 2 workstations, 1 with office 2016 and one with 2013. -Chris
LukeC Posted February 3, 2017 Posted February 3, 2017 We were experiancing an issue with netsupport dna. Netsupport released a newer version that fixed the issue.
Matt_NetSupport Posted February 4, 2017 Posted February 4, 2017 DNA 4.30.0002 fixes an issue with sims/excel crashing - if you smartupdate DNA it should resolve the issue (assuming it is the same) PM me if you would like our support team to help you with this
colly72 Posted May 14, 2018 Posted May 14, 2018 I'm having a similar problem, running a SIMS report, whilst Netsupport DNA console is open (v 4.60.1.785). As soon as I close down DNA console, the report exports to Excel fine. Looks like the latest version of Netsupport has reintroduced this problem.
Mattjones47 Posted May 14, 2018 Posted May 14, 2018 Hi Colly72, Someone from our support team will be in touch shortly.. Matt
Xeba37 Posted May 15, 2018 Posted May 15, 2018 @Mattjones47We are having the same issue. I noticed it yesterday on some reports which were working fine. Is there an easy resolve or should I log a support call.
Tom_NetSupport Posted May 15, 2018 Posted May 15, 2018 Hi @Xeba37 Could you send me a PM with your details? Tom
Tom_NetSupport Posted May 16, 2018 Posted May 16, 2018 Thanks for getting back to me @Xeba37, but it looks like the error isn't caused by NetSupport DNA. It my be worth speaking with a SIMS technician? Tom
mattysmith80 Posted October 15, 2018 Posted October 15, 2018 Did anyone ever get a fix for this ? I dont have Netsupport but do have the issue where Excel 2016 crashes when trying to run a report. Looking for some advice
mattpant Posted January 22, 2019 Posted January 22, 2019 I'm randomly getting this same issue with Excel 2016. I don't have Netsupport - anybody solve the issue??
blueday Posted January 23, 2019 Posted January 23, 2019 Have you tried this - after Excel crashes, open it again (without going back to SIMS) and open Excellist.xlsm from Recent files. As the text file (Reportdata.txt) containing all the data is still there in your tempSIMSrpt folder (it is deleted when you go to back to SIMS and do something else, or close SIMS), the report should run again. This sometimes works. Other than that, check all Office updates have been applied (although sometimes these are the cause...).
