Day off for Moving house?

Hi,

Moving house soon, does anyone know if support staff are allowed a paid day off to move house? (like teaching staff do)

We got it yep Think it depends per council etc though

It depends on your contract. It's not the law.

 

LAs may honour this. "It depends" if you work in an academy, free school or independent.

 

You need to contact your HR department

Would depend on your line manager.

 

It would be classed as a normal annual leave day.

My last place we got it as a paid day off for home moving

We get it off for one day and not taken out of our A/L. In some rare cases where it is a big/long move the head allows two.

Day off to move house, that's a new one on me!!

I made use of the paid day off to move house (additional to annual leave) 6 out of 10 years working where i am (I moved faaaar too much)

I got told about it by chance when we were moving. I exchanged on the Wednesday, but as we had somewhere to live moved in on the Friday. Spent the day painting rooms while it was empty!
