Joanne Posted August 30, 2016 Posted August 30, 2016 Oooh... changed my mind. It looks creepy as hell!
Garacesh Posted August 30, 2016 Author Posted August 30, 2016 Yeah, I saw them last night and thought "Hmm, I might have to have a looksee at th - NOPE!"
Garacesh Posted September 14, 2016 Author Posted September 14, 2016 Well there's the app uninstalled and an unfavourable review left. Sorry, Niantic, but when Pokemon:GO still has no semblance of the mechanics that made Ingress fun, I've lost interest. And now that you've locked out rooted users, I couldn't even play if I wanted to. Sorrynotsorry, I prefer having a better-optimised and debloated OS over your app. GG. Not that it matters. I'm but a drop in the water in the grand scheme of things. I'm not going to indignantly declare that they need to design their app to my every demand, but I'm not the only one complaining. Ah well.
Joanne Posted September 15, 2016 Posted September 15, 2016 does this mean you'll be changing your sig?
Garacesh Posted September 15, 2016 Author Posted September 15, 2016 (edited) does this mean you'll be changing your sig? Yeah, when I can be bothered May I suggest a nice blue bird instead? You may not. Edited September 15, 2016 by Garacesh
abillybob Posted September 15, 2016 Posted September 15, 2016 I'm annoyed they've blocked root users. If my bank will allow root devices on their app I think it's ridiculous that a game won't. Not playing anymore.

Funny how the thing designed to stop cheaters has stopped me playing legitimately and actually forced me to cheat to play. Irony overload there......

Geoff Posted September 15, 2016 Posted September 15, 2016 You can just hide root from apps on Android.
CHR1S Posted September 27, 2016 Posted September 27, 2016 Uninstalled it about 4/5 days ago, haven't missed it one bit.

Garacesh Posted November 27, 2017 Author Posted November 27, 2017 https://papers.ssrn.com/sol3/papers.cfm?abstract_id=3073723 Abstract Based on detailed police accident reports for Tippecanoe County, Indiana, and using the introduction of the virtual reality game Pokémon GO as a natural experiment, we document a disproportionate increase in vehicular crashes and associated vehicular damage, personal injuries, and fatalities in the vicinity of locations, called PokéStops, where users can play the game while driving. The results are robust to using points of play, called Gyms, that cannot be used to play the game while driving as a placebo. We estimate the total incremental county-wide cost of users playing Pokémon GO while driving, including the value of the two incremental human lives lost, to be in the range of $5.2 million to $25.5 million over only the 148 days following the introduction of the game. Extrapolation of these estimates to nation-wide levels yields a total ranging from $2 to $7.3 billion for the same period.
sted Posted May 22, 2018 Posted May 22, 2018 no but apparently its tied into the next pokemon switch game (which is supposed to be revealed any time now) so that might get me back in
Mewdewgooboofoo Posted May 22, 2018 Posted May 22, 2018 Lets go Pikachu and Lets go Eevee, apparently you can only catch the first 151 Pokemon in it. its a kanto remake
sted Posted May 22, 2018 Posted May 22, 2018 Lets go Pikachu and Lets go Eevee, apparently you can only catch the first 151 Pokemon in it. its a kanto remake im not sure how far to trust these rumours but if you want to capitalise on go it makes sense to (at least until post game) keep the dex down to something manageable 800 is daft and we dont need sandcastles, ice cream cones, keys and chandeliers lol, and a "yellow 2" dosent seem a bad way to go as its never been remade unlike red/blue(green)
Geoff Posted May 22, 2018 Posted May 22, 2018 (edited) anyone still playing? Installed it again recently as I was on holiday so visiting a lot of new areas. I've kept it on my phone as I'm quite enjoying it now with the new missions / raid mechanics. Gives a nice focus to your play. Plus I have a much beefier phone than I did back in 2016 (Samsung S3 vs Huawai P10 Plus) so it runs far better. Edited May 22, 2018 by Geoff

I've been um-ing and ah-ing about it for a while but with everything that's going on I just can't be dropping money on one atm. But if it's tied into Pokemon GO, I'm out. I got bored of Pokemon GO within 2 weeks. No interest in buying a game that's going to potentially gate content behind another game. I guess it all depends on the level of 'integration'. We'll see.

Ive seen that they have patented the idea of NFC cards to transfer Pokemon by the looks of it. so maybe you can transfer Pokemon in to POGO and vice versa, also i think the POGO aspects in the game will be the POGO capturing system if you play it in handheld mode
