elsiegee40 Posted October 14, 2016 Posted October 14, 2016 Assuming no Aged P crisis crops up either looks good for me. 21st better than 19th. Subject to aged parent here as well. Fingers crossed
Boredguy Posted October 14, 2016 Posted October 14, 2016 I might let @DJ-1701 have the day off to gate crash
witch Posted October 14, 2016 Posted October 14, 2016 21st is ringing odd bells with me - will have to look when I get home.
AJWhite1970 Posted October 14, 2016 Posted October 14, 2016 Just checked with the Bursar and I can offer free on-site parking in Salisbury on the 19th or 21st if that helps? I'm about 30 seconds walk from the city centre, the Christmas market will be on and there are loads of cafe/pubs/restaurants near-by etc. Mainline train direct from Exeter, Cardiff, Portsmouth, Southampton, Basingchoke and Waterloo, the station is about a 10 minute walk from the cathedral.
GrumbleDook Posted October 14, 2016 Posted October 14, 2016 I'll come via train and both dates look ok at the moment.

DalekSec Posted October 14, 2016 Posted October 14, 2016 Will have to look at time off, would of prefered to go on train so can drink. But i only live 30mins drive away!

DalekSec Posted October 14, 2016 Posted October 14, 2016 I live 20 mins away from one of my mates. No way would I ever drive to see him... Don't have a train track in our town, on top of a very big hill! Could travel to nearest train and catch it...
elsiegee40 Posted October 14, 2016 Posted October 14, 2016 Don't have a train track in our town, on top of a very big hill! Could travel to nearest train and catch it... I thought Daleks could fly these days?

I thought Daleks could fly these days? If he's where I think he is he could just roll down the hill to the nearest town (begins with G?). Might need a tow back up after, though!
DalekSec Posted October 14, 2016 Posted October 14, 2016 If he's where I think he is he could just roll down the hill to the nearest town (begins with G?). Might need a tow back up after, though! Aye Gillingham (Not the one in Kent), Every since terrorism it's hard for us Daleks to fly without proper authorization....
AJWhite1970 Posted October 14, 2016 Posted October 14, 2016 It's hard for us Daleks to fly without proper authorization.... You might struggle at my place then. A) It's an old building with many steps and no lifts B) Parking is a nightmare, unless you have a blue badge you will need to leave your interplanetary cruiser in one of the out of town park and rides C) Anything higher than 42 foot falls foul of the Cathedral restrictions or the restricted air space from Boscombe Down air base or Old Sarum airport
DalekSec Posted October 20, 2016 Posted October 20, 2016 Come on guys, lets make a decision here. Went to reply to your PM but someone needs to do some tidying!
LeMarchand Posted October 20, 2016 Posted October 20, 2016 21st better than 19th. Subject to aged parent here as well. Fingers crossed 21st is ringing odd bells with me - will have to look when I get home. Come on guys, lets make a decision here. Have you silenced the bells?
Oaktech Posted October 20, 2016 Author Posted October 20, 2016 Come on guys, lets make a decision here. I can do either the 19th or the 21st, you said the 21st rang a bell and that you'd check... Aaaaaannnddddd...
BKGarry Posted October 20, 2016 Posted October 20, 2016 now now play nice everyone. I'm up for either date
AJWhite1970 Posted October 20, 2016 Posted October 20, 2016 I can do either date and I'm good to host up here on either date if people want to come up here. If not, I can just as easily come down to the seaside for the day
elsiegee40 Posted October 20, 2016 Posted October 20, 2016 I vote for a lunchtime start wherever ajwhite is on Wed 21st making transport reasonably straightforward for me and Garry
Oaktech Posted October 20, 2016 Author Posted October 20, 2016 I vote for a lunchtime start wherever ajwhite is on Wed 21st making transport reasonably straightforward for me and Garry Seconded... He's in Salisbury I believe...
LeMarchand Posted October 20, 2016 Posted October 20, 2016 I vote for a lunchtime start wherever ajwhite is on Wed 21st making transport reasonably straightforward for me and Garry Sounds good to me (with the previously mentioned caveats).
witch Posted October 20, 2016 Posted October 20, 2016 21st is fine. But what about parking if we went to Salisbury - would it be OK because of being the hols?
BKGarry Posted October 20, 2016 Posted October 20, 2016 wow you used my real name :-) Oooooo Salisbury, its been a good 10 years since I have been down there. I wanted to go in the cathedral last time I was there but the nuns in the ticket booth scared me a bit. Went to Old Sarum instead. :-)
witch Posted October 20, 2016 Posted October 20, 2016 They scare me too - but mostly because I don't believe you should have to pay that amount - I am told you can just walk past them but I have never had the guts to do it
