localzuk Posted June 10, 2016 Posted June 10, 2016 I've been given some photos of a building that is likely going to be part of our trust soon and there's one which contains a bunch of connectors... Can someone identify what these would be for? The image was terrible, so I've had to do some shake reduction.

We are of the mind that it is either: - Early network printing (one connection to each PC to a printer with an auto-switch working it out) or - Early networking. Both of which you would have thought be obsolute in this day and age.
Norphy Posted June 10, 2016 Posted June 10, 2016 Some sort of legacy network connections at a guess though God knows what. I remember having to rip out a load of networking cabling designed for BBC computers in my first school.

Oaktech Posted June 10, 2016 Posted June 10, 2016 Legacy networking. I remember my old secondary school had crap loads of these with greenscreen vt100 terminals hung off them that ran across ISDN to the LA running pretty much the first version of sims.

mikeprice Posted June 10, 2016 Posted June 10, 2016 I worked with loads of stuff like that in the 1980s - they were serial ports (RS232 normally) Other possibility is printer ports from Pcs as they look exactly thesame
