TriggerHappyUK Posted April 26, 2016 Posted April 26, 2016 How do you set this up? One of my primary schools are wanting to do the same thing. Do you have to get certain ports opened by you ISP? We're using SWGfL. Chris

JordanT91 Posted April 27, 2016 Posted April 27, 2016 The sad thing is that even I can't view the Youtube stream, restricted mode has been forced on us by County for over 6 months now...
Stone_Charli Posted April 28, 2016 Posted April 28, 2016 Just came across this - Happy to see one of our laptops being put to good use! Gutted I missed the hatching but they're so sweet!!
Joanne Posted May 3, 2016 Posted May 3, 2016 If anyone is having egg spotting withdrawals ours Is that a pip in the front left egg?
TechMonkey Posted May 3, 2016 Posted May 3, 2016 Is that a pip in the front left egg? I'd have to go down to the Sci lab and check but I think it is just an imperfection on the shell
Joanne Posted May 3, 2016 Posted May 3, 2016 I'd have to go down to the Sci lab and check but I think it is just an imperfection on the shell No worries. I'll stop watching it for now then! Just trawling through some CCTV footage and the egg is well distracting for some reason!! Hah!
TechMonkey Posted May 3, 2016 Posted May 3, 2016 First one out. It has decided to do a victory lap and kick all the other eggs to celebrate beating them all out
DCUK6 Posted May 4, 2016 Posted May 4, 2016 Be careful tech, students on ur camera. might need to re position camera if putting on external source. Permissions and all that.
foofighterjim Posted May 4, 2016 Posted May 4, 2016 Be careful tech, students on ur camera. might need to re position camera if putting on external source. Permissions and all that. +1. It is for this reason we could not have our camera on during the school day.
GuyJD Posted May 4, 2016 Posted May 4, 2016 What camera's are you guys using? I used a visualiser I had in my office as it's all I had to hand as it was kind of dropped on me last minute but I'd like to get something decent for next time.
TechMonkey Posted May 4, 2016 Posted May 4, 2016 (edited) Be careful tech, students on ur camera. might need to re position camera if putting on external source. Permissions and all that. Thanks. We have no retractors from marketing, photography or videos on roll at the moment. Ran it past SMT and they were happy, more worried about the gurning and faces pulled by some of the kids and that was just normal expressions! No one is being identified so no different than our school photo stream or our other videos we have published. We had to buy a Hik-vision camera for testing purposes so we have re-purposed it for egg duty. Wasn't dear. @Joanne - Yes I keep cracking up at them falling asleep on the eggs or in a corner and the startling themselves. Edited May 4, 2016 by TechMonkey
Garacesh Posted May 4, 2016 Posted May 4, 2016 No one is being identified so no different than our school photo stream. Well, no, but isn't the issue around consent? If a photo is on your website you're supposed to get consent from the parent/guardian. Would video stream not follow the same sort of guidelines?
TechMonkey Posted May 4, 2016 Posted May 4, 2016 Well, no, but isn't the issue around consent? If a photo is on your website you're supposed to get consent from the parent/guardian. Would video stream not follow the same sort of guidelines? On our admissions form there is a tick box about marketing and images or videos. I will check but I am sure this is confirmed every other year if not annually and permission can be withdrawn at any time. Our website, gallery and various social media channels would grind to a halt if we had to check with each and every parent if they were happy for a photo or collection of photos to go up.

Would video stream not follow the same sort of guidelines? No? If a child hasn't specifically requested to not be in photographs (which we take very seriously) then they are free to go on the website videos etc. That's how we have always played it here and have (Ofsted) outstanding safeguarding.
