Suggestion on a office chair!

Hello ladies and gents.

 

My First time posting a topic, hope i do not bore you all to much but here i go!

 

I am looking into getting myself a office chair at work, due to their chairs not being so.... great. I am a tall lad at around 6.3, and around 18stone *pure muscle i swear!* But most chairs i have sat on here, are not to cozy on the bottom and lower back. Plus love something that has a higher back so it can support my neck when i am watching educational videos or doing long write ups during the day, so i can relax but feel that my back is being supported. Generally lately i feel bottom part of my back and shoulder areas are achy and sore, and my bottom is rather numb after long periods of time of working, its came to a point i have to get up every 30mins as the chair feels like sitting on wood. another thing is maybe arm rests that i can adjust so my arms feel supported during typing and during high work loads.

 

So what im getting to is, anyone got a suggestion for a large guy *not fat!... ok chubby, just a little!* and tall, that supports the back, butt, and arms effectively but not going to cost a arm and a leg for my work place. We checked one site out and they wanted around £800+ for their chairs. Admitted i would love a chair with all the bells and whistles but i find it unfair and slightly unjust.

 

So if anyone has any suggestions or ideas where to go, please let me know! Personally experiences or examples of chairs you have used before, or people you known to use them would be lovely.

RH Logic 400 all day long! I injured myself whilst at uni some years ago and I was spending long days writing my dissertation in a cheap office chair! It wasn't till I invested in a decent chair that I started to get better! In future I would never skimp on a chair if you are to be sat in it for any length of time on the day to day.

 

IMO Any decent chair is going to cost £800+ secondhand bargains can be had on eBay, these usually come from business closures.

Hah, some days i only feel half the man i am! tends to be Sundays after a evening out....But regardless thanks for the heads up! we got a staples near by, see if they have them in stock and see how they feel.

Agreed, i did feel that i need to get a chair that is going to support my back all day long, and even worse that my chair at home is terrible as well! But i guess 800 over my back giving in and dying is worth it, but might have to check around, see if i can get near to lower prices. But RHlogic 400 good for my size roughly? just so i can keep a idea in the back of my mind if i need to splash the cash on it.

 

Shame i cant buy myself a gaming chair, god those things feel amazing

I had the KAB Controller Chair at my last place. It was a fantastic chair. I really would love to have one for home and my current work place, but unfortunately the near £800 price tag just isn't feasible on a personal level and I only managed to get it at my last work place because that was where I hurt my back

loving the price tag! work will get me the more expensive ones if need be, but i feel so damn guilty over it =(

I can't fault my £800+ chair Hoganasmobler H562 - Easy Ergonomics , kindly bought by some government agency/department many years ago due to a bad back when i went self employed. The school where i worked also bought me one.

Don't feel guilty, your comfort results in you being more productive and it will last far far longer than say £800 of Apple gear. I've had this one over 10 years and the arms are a little worn and that's it.

It's designed to support, but also move so it can stretch my back when it becomes achey.

Thanks for the heads up. Might take a trip down to IKEA and check them out, as the other guys are interested in some for all users for that price.

What i am attempting to pull myself to. I guess i have worked in such horrible places where they do not care, and now i am in a IT job i love, and being treated fairly is a oddity to myself. Like a abusive relationship and bang found the right one whom will snuggle you at night =p

Bought the leather Markus a couple of weeks ago £130 10 year guarantee, got it for the comfortable recline and height, I'm 6"3 and can sit upright with my head on the headrest, also comfy for a mid morning snooze. Though If I bought another I think id go fabric rather than leather.
