Rubbish? What races have you been watching? All things considered, he's done a better job than Rosberg.

 

I know we don't always agree, but i am with you on this one. I am not a huge fan of Hamilton, but in terms of his driving this year, i think he has done really well. It's been his starting position or reliability that has been the challenge. Last race he drove a cracker.

 

That said, i am a Jenson fan, so i may be open to a lot of claims of not having a clue what i am talking about :)

Nah, JB is one of the best drivers on the grid. Just gets on with it quietly. He's matching Alonso in the McLaren, although that's not worth a lot right now :)

Everyone likes a nice guy that has talent too. Jenson is a cracking bloke and a great laugh, absolutely down to earth. Quite like Damon Hill back in the day! :)

 

I was really hoping this season, Honda would get their s*** together and Button and Alonso would be back in a competitive car. I still think on his day and when tyre management is key, Jenson can match or beat Alonso and anyone else like for like. Not sure he is going to get the chance to prove me right or wrong on that though ( certainly not looking likely this season).

I wonder if Merc are going to get rid of Hamilton because he's rubbish this year. I hope so. He's a bit of a knob.

 

Woah!!! Hang on a Chow!!! Thats a bit harsh isnt it? The only reason why he's been "rubbish" is due to the problems he's beeb having. I still think there's something fishy going on since they have swapped mechanics!

Isn't is a coinsidence thag Hamilton goes quickest in Q2 in russia and suddently in Q3 his car doesnt work!!

Erm no. He's only finished 2 i think. I know its all penalties. Either love him or mildly dislike him. You might love him, I dislike him :)

 

I can't stand Mercedes being allowed to be so in front of the others. It makes it ssooooo boring.

 

MotoGP is rocking me lately. Its proper racing :)

No, he's finished all of the races. The only race he's finished outside of the top three was in China where he started from the pit lane. He had bad starts in Aus, had an accident at the start in Bahrain and started tenth in Russia.

 

All things considered, he's not done that badly. He has at least done more than just sit at the front for the entire race unlike Rosberg.

n.b. I'm not really a Hamilton fan but I do think he's a better driver than Rosberg.

Personally I don't understand all the hate towards Hamilton. Yes he might be a cry baby sometimes but so would anyone with a world championship at stake and being so passionate about racing. His glamorous "Kardashian" like lifestyle can only be good advertising for a sport that desperately needs to win back fans.

Being a crybaby isn't a trait exclusive to Hamilton either. Look at how petulant Rosberg got when things weren't going his way last year. Vettel has his moments as well.

Agreed. Hamilton's done a blinding job, even with all the issues he's had so far this season and somehow he's still right behind Rosberg. Rosberg had similar problems last year and all he could do was throw his toys from the pram and moan, even though he was slower. Though, something doesn't quite sit right with me. The change in mechanics and the 'sudden' failures happening with Hamilton's qualifying/race forcing him to take penalties...

 

Jenson is a cool guy, he just takes the hit and gets on with it. Although, I'll never forget JB's Canadian Grand Prix in 2011. One of my all time favourite races :cool:

I think the Merc is just having proper issues and it's nothing dodgy. Switching the mechanics between cars happens in other teams without it being reported.

 

At least it's giving some excitement....

You have to admit, Vettel's profanity ladened outbursts are pretty humorous when he has a tantrum.

Not a bad result! It's certainly clear to see out of the Mercedes pair which is the racer and which is just a driver! (Yet people still defend Rosberg until they're blue in the face for some reason)

Fascinating stuff :D 4 drivers in it for the last twenty laps, with no idea which way it'd fall... brilliant.

 

Feel a bit rotten for Ricciardo though--if you want to split strategy, you normally put your #2 driver onto the risky option, which at that point in the running order was Verstappen. I'm not one for team conspiracies in F1, but that was odd.

So glad Max Verstappen won. He's gonna be the next Schumacher.

 

I can't believe that NR so blatantly ran LH off the road. He deserved to get wiped out.

 

I'm glad. It made for a better race.

 

Riccardo should definately been on the podium though.

That was a great race yesterday, I'm glad that Rosberg got taken out but not happy it took both Merc's out of the running. I guess it gave way to a new record for Verstappen. I was kind of hoping for a fight/drama like Belgium '98 with Schumacher and Coulthard between the Merc's but one can only wish haha. You could see during the interview's after they came out of the stewards that Rosberg knew what he was doing, apparently it was 'His' race to win before he changed his words to 'The Team'. I mean come on, second corner and you're already in harvesting mode because you used it all to get out in front?

 

I agree @mikkydoos I was gutted for Riccardo, he totally deserved a podium for all the brilliant driving he did, but it was pretty obvious who the team were putting first in this race as the top contenders were out.

I don't believe NR did anything maliciously. He was just doing too much, trying to correct his engine setting, not really paying attention to the road; he did a bit of a Maldonado, if you remember when he forgot to watch the road when fiddling with his knobs! Lewis easily had the move done, he was by far the quickest car and the gap was there.
