I've been playing on XB1 but just seen an article that the PC player base has dropped by 81% since release!

Is it really that bad? :o

You have no idea mate. Though they're not impervious to these kinds of problems, I can understand why console games use the trusted-client model.. But for PC? Where it's so easy to edit memory data? Terrible, terrible decision. Honestly I just feel like Ubisoft/MASSIVE are just waiting for the game to fully 'die' on PC so they can scrap it and keep the console copy running. It's blatantly obvious that this game was developed for consoles with a PC port thought of only at the end of development. Sadly we're seeing this more and more these days..

The PC port was only added because of petitions to make it happen, Massive wanted to please the masses but I don't think they quite grasped how much work would be needed to make it work on PC, The trusted client issues have been there since the beta, everyone knew about them way back then I'm in no way saying it's not Massive's fault but players knew it was broken before release and still went out and paid for it in the hopes it would be fixed at some point down the line.

PC here. TBH I don't venture into the Dark Zone anyway. Partly because of the hackers, also because I am just not a PvP person so I'm mostly doing PvE content. But the game has serious problems with content just not being that great, very repetitive and exceptionally buggy. Mission doors not opening and regular disconnections just becomes tiresome. Eventually you feel you've done a lot for little reward at the end.

Agreed, I usually prefer going solo in games. Not experienced much on XB1 by way of glitchiness but the DZ trolls are alive and well. The matchmaking has been useful though, particularly for the incursions. 1.2 does have some more PvE content but can't say how much appeal it will offer. I'd love to see some PvE/PvP crossover missions. It'd be more of an incentive to venture there rather than just for the endless grind.

Did anyone try the update last night then?

We managed to get a squad of 4 together on the xbox and ran some of the daily High value target missions and got some pretty cool gear set items out of it. I also had a brief look at the new incursion but because there were only 2 of us on at the time we didn't get far in to it.

I did, they have added more daily grinds (yay) and the new incursion is quite fun. Much better than wave after wave hiding in the same two spots for wave after wave.

Got almost to the end of it but two of the group kept dieing so gave up. Still it was fun.

I played last night. Spent most of the night doing HVT's in a group, managed to get four bits of Lone Star. It looks like the free instant reload only applies to your side arm. I couldn't get it to work with my SMG or sniper.

i believe you have to have the full set for the instant reload to work?

Not played 1.2 yet.. possibly tomorow, but wanted to say the new that the Division Movie is being made starring Jake Gylinghall should be a good thing... well they have earnt enough money from it so they need to spend it on something ;)

I'm enjoying 1.2 more than 1.1 mainly because I can easily earn Phoenix Credits without having to spam Challenge mode and hoping to find good groups all the time.

Still, I'm waiting for the DLCs considering I actually purchased the season pass.

Finally managed to get some what a good gear rating too 211 I think. I've avoided the DZ, just don't see a point in it at all now unless you can get a decent group.

I'm really enjoying 1.2 the HVT's are great fun, I still haven't beaten Clears Skies though and I am getting a bit annoyed at always getting Lonestar gear in drops. Edited by GuyJD

Is it worth picking back up on PC yet? Have the blatant hackers been stopped yet?

I haven't played since I completed the first incursion and got fed up of being killed by speed, ammo and god mode hackers running round.

While I have it on PS4, a few of my friends have it on PC and they say the hackers are pretty much gone. Ubisoft have gotten much more hot on with bans for exploits/hacks

According to Auntie - Ubisoft have realised that banning people for two weeks isn't working (certainly as they can still then use the kit they got while cheating after the ban lifts), so they're moving to permabans.

It's still going to take a lot more than that. Most of the playerbase has gone, which doesn't really give me incentive to pick it back up.

They need a way to detect cheaters on-the-fly and not to rely on player reports. If they refuse to move away from the trusted client model, they need their servers to perform error and integrity checks on the data the client sends and sanctions to be taken when the data repeatedly does not match. They also need to do something (though I don't know what it would take) to get the players like me that have quit to come back.

They should dedicate a server or two to cheaters and throw them all in there together, they'll soon get bored fighting against people that aren't playing fair just like them.

Everytime I go to log-in I think of the instance errors and bugs combined with the lonely Phoenix grind and absurd load times then log back out again.

To be fair I have noticed a lot less errors in the last week. I am no longer seeing an instance issue or generally any problems. With the extra missions earning phoenix credits is much easier but still takes time getting a decent 210+ gear rating if you don't do DZ or Incursion Challenge modes.

It's better but still has some way to go before it will attract people back. I do dailies just to keep up my phoenix points and hope a decent drop that improves what I got - mainly in time for DLC.

This is a Ubisoft problem in general, siege is in a similar state. I'm hoping they will just bite the bullet and get a proven 3rd party anticheat in to work with fairfight like punkbuster.
