Some breeds are worse than others - we've solved husky based destruction by giving ours a Lion King Simba stuffed toy, she carries him round the house as a companion when we're out. 1

My brother in law has a whippet and he really doesn't like being left! He will howl when no one is home and he pees up the kitchen door! Not destructive though.

We had a lurcher with separation anxiety. Used to leave her in a large cage in the kitchen and that reassured her (altho' occasionally she would bounce the cage around the kitchen floor)

Her favourite thing at the moment is eating and then rubbing her nose on you. Her way of greeting you is also rubbing against you. She doesn't want to have her head rubbed, she wants to rub her side against you and look back at you. If she really likes you, she jumps up, and puts her paws on your shoulders. Makes you realise how big she is when she puts her paws on your shoulders when you're 6'3" tall. If you want slobber, you need a Neapolitan Mastiff; my step-brother had one for a while.
