Which mod pack do the windmill and water wheels come from? There seems to be hundreds of ways of doing some things. The windmills that I was looking at from IC2 say that they only last for a certain amount of time.

a series of solar panels and a coal-fired generator in my IC2 setup, which powers an Energy Acceptor for my AE2 stuff. I'm still not sure how to power Ender IO devices. I was considering a big reactor, but that seems to be a bit of a leap.

Basically, that's the idea I was rolling with. Thermal Expansion is what I know the most of in this modpack, so get a macerator and some electric furnaces, hook them up to a batbox (which is connected to both a generator and solar panels) and use redstone engines to power the pipes to shift items.

These ones are from Immersive Engineering. They generate RF.

I'm stealing lava from the nether through an ender pump and some ender tanks. I use it to run lava generators attached to my ore processing and ender quarry setup. I could probably make a big reactor, but I haven't needed to so far.

I have a big reactor, magmatic dynamo, reactant dynamo, sterling generator, lightning rod, and windmills. I'm thinking of making biofuel reactor to process a lot of the extra saplings and such I get from the farm.

All of that generates RF, I'm using rednet energy cable to power my IC2 machines. I do not have anything that generates EU.

I am in the process of compressing coal into diamonds. I'm working on flux infused armor which is diamond hungry.

Ender pump in the nether, powered by a single lava generator (extra utilities) and then on the overworld side i have i think 5 upgraded lava generators. Not had a power issue at all.

Made a good start on my Blood Magic stuff, and also started Thaumcraft stuff. Up to tier 3 in Blood Magic. Built a vanilla mob spawner atop my altar, by moving normal spawners into it, disabled by lights. Works well. Will be even better once I can get a Well of Suffering up and running.

I did a bit more research and created a few more wand cores. I'm short of emeralds to create a couple of the new wand cores I researched though. I'll abduct some villagers and create a villager farm. I need to create a few more items with my infusion altar, however high instability creating the items has caused it to be problematic so far to say the least.

Just out of interest, what does everyone else use to power all of their systems (IC2, AE2, Ender IO...) I currently have a series of solar panels and a coal-fired generator in my IC2 setup, which powers an Energy Acceptor for my AE2 stuff. I'm still not sure how to power Ender IO devices. I was considering a big reactor, but that seems to be a bit of a leap.

I currently have a 10x10x4 Big Reactor with 4 cores filled with Cryotheum, 10 Improved Windmills, Triple water wheel (seeing a pattern here?), 1 Lightning Rods, 1 Solar Generator and 1 Culinary Generator. I'm in the process of adding another 3 Lightning Rods.

How rude! Copying my reactor! I will obviously now have to expand it further!! :D Think I will look at active cooling next!

Maybe even look at an IC2 reactor, if I want to live dangerously...

I'm struggling to work out why you guys need so much power!

Are you making UU matter or something?

Ender Quarry. Quite a large AE setup now too. I can burn through 2B EU in about 3 hours now.

Oh, and Ender IO powered spawners chomp through power. about 5500 RF/t to run.

My lava gens run my AE network and ender quarry, although i don't have any automation on my AE network right now. The ender IO spawner i just have powered by a solar panel and let it tick over slowly anyway.

Only power issues i ran into was infusing the draconium blocks but leaving the chunk loaded while I played other games solved that one.

Doh , actually no it's 8x8x4, but it's not far off.

I did it for fun mostly, but yes the Ender Quarry does seem to use a fair bit so this replenishes my power easily - plus I can't be bothered setting up a lava->RF generation setup.

Lava (Nether) - > Ender pump (powered by lava gen) -> Ender tank -> lava gens (overworld). Granted getting the blaze rods and ender pearls can be a bit annoying but it's really not that bad compared to burning a rainforest down.

I've got over 10k ingots of fuel for my reactor, so power isn't gonna be an issue for me I don't think!

I set Jedmondson up with a charcoal power setup yesterday, generates 800 RF/t, and can be expanded by adding more stirling engines quite easily! (In fact it probably needs more to keep up with the amount of wood being created now to be honest). Probably can handle double the engines.

Decided to build somewhere specific for my power generation last night. Got carried away... :D Rather large power station building now ready to go!

Also upgraded my Draconic Energy storage to tier 4, so can now store nearly 10B RF.

I was going to kidnap some and melt them in my smeltery tbh. It's more fun.

Wait, does that make emeralds?

Found a new place to live. All this underground lark is going to make wiring a ballache, so I'm just gonna copy Local and build a chunk-house methinks.

Wait, does that make emeralds?

If you need emeralds the village near me has at least 3 more guys that do wheat for emeralds, two guys that do wool for emeralds and another two that do paper for emeralds. I plan to steal at least one of each, but the others you can go and grab if you want. Surely there's a way to auto-shear sheep or farm wheat?

Yeah, you can do both. Only issue is that the villagers get used up over time. So, a sustainable way of getting emeralds would be ideal (read - melting them...)! Just make a villager spawner and voila, unlimited emeralds.

For the farming, there are MFR machines that can do both.

Hang on, what?
