Good morning all,

I have been given the task to update our sigital signage (or lack of!)

I have been in contact with a few companies and they seem to recommend Sedao ImageFlyer software because it's cheap!

I have downloaded the trial and I just don't like it.

So my question to your guys is;

What company do you use, and how do you configure your digital signage, do you have multiple screens with multiple content boxes?

Any information would be very useful!

Please keep in mind we are on a tight budget so I would imagine companies like OneLan to be too expensive!

Another Xibo user here. Set up about 3 or 4 years ago and never needed to touch it since really. Except the people that were supposed to use it don't really so I've given up update displays to make them look nice as an example of what can be done.

We've ditched 'The Life Channel' in favour of Xibo.

It runs on very little hardware and allows one central server with multiple screens around school, showing the same or different content. It can be a bit tricky to get the layout working how you want but once its done, its easy to maintain. There's good support from the Xibo community (and edugeekers) too.

Xibo and use Mr Dolans Messages front end to allow staff to easily add messages and not addle their poor minds. Beyond that we have the weather, daily quote, Newsround feed, latest Twitter post and pictures from our Flickr account showing at different points. I have also used it to create a display system for a Comic Relief event, showing youtube videos, twitter messages and a totaliser. Need more nursing then I liked and wouldn't like to have left anyone else using it but only because of the way I had cludged it all together, not Xibos fault.

We have large screen TVs connected to VeryPC Nanos. Possibly overkill but knew it would work off the bat. PC auto logs in as a Kiosk user set by GPO registry. The only fiddle I haven't worked out yet is Xibo Config seems to be per user, so I have to remote to each machine to set up, no automation. Yet. I'm sure it is just a file or registry entry that could be pushed by GPO.

We run 3 screens at the moment, 2 serving up similar content, just different RSS feeds, the third serving completely different content. Hoping to expand to a few more, including a reception screen and possibly an external screen.

Installing Xibo as we speak!

So you can push different content out to different screens from one Server? That seems interesting!

I would imagine any device with a browser would be able to bring up the Digital Signage?

Edit -I'm installing this on a Windows 7 VM, has anyone installed this on a Windows 7 box before or always a server?

We have the server running on a Linux (Ubuntu) web server - It works flawlessly, the setup of Xibo and campaigns, layouts etc. all seemed a bit complicated at first but once you get used to it, it's 100% reliable and we have had 0 issues over the past year (unlike the previous solution, Sedao)

We have the regular videos, slideshows etc. and a layout with an XML feed that we just update daily - So we don't actually touch Xibo for the daily bulletins.

An another Xibo user here too. I'm relatively new to Xibo having set our system up to replace TriplePlay only last month, so still learning.

We have 3 screens using AndroidTV boxes after originally using RPi2s. Xibo server currently on a Win7 machine. So far, so good however I'm still trying to get my head around the timings of different regions. The random refreshing is annoying, but I know it's just down to how I have it set up. The ultimate goal when I have time to play is to have everything pretty much fully automated with content coming direct from staff without having to log into the Xibo interface.

Anyone have any recommendations on screens\TV`s for use with Xibo? (All depends on available room i know)

All we did was get some large screens, 42" I think, from VeryPC. They don't have all the fancy features of a proper e-signage display (networked management, WOL, etc) but they are a fraction of the cost.
