LeMarchand Posted October 6, 2015 Posted October 6, 2015 I was hoping that they might pull out some stupidly low pricing for the 950XL, but no such luck (unless they're throwing in the Continuum kit). Looks like the 640XL for me, though may hang on to see if that drops in price when the new ones are out (or if I can get a better deal on the 950XL).
Wubbalubbadub Posted October 6, 2015 Posted October 6, 2015 When are they releasing the surface pro 4? Any ideas?
Arthur Posted October 6, 2015 Posted October 6, 2015 When are they releasing the surface pro 4? Any ideas? 26 October in the US. A UK release date hasn't been confirmed. http://arstechnica.co.uk/gadgets/2015/10/surface-pro-gets-a-better-screen-a-skylake-processor-and-an-xl-version/ 1
DJ-1701 Posted October 6, 2015 Posted October 6, 2015 Hopefully other Windows Hello login services such as face or eye scan will work if they aren't including the fingerprint reader. Too bad no specified date on the OS update for existing Microsoft phones. Impatient DJ is impatient .
halbaradkenafin Posted October 7, 2015 Posted October 7, 2015 Looks like I may be saving up for a Surface Pro 4. My pro 2 is still going solid but I'd love more RAM to run more VMs on it, the extra storage and processor are just a bonus.
Arthur Posted October 7, 2015 Posted October 7, 2015 Too bad no specified date on the OS update for existing Microsoft phones. Sometime in December apparently. 1

This may not be a great plan as Argos have just upped the price by a tenner, presumably on the grounds that the next one up is around £600 .
JRowley Posted October 7, 2015 Posted October 7, 2015 (edited) The fingerprint biometric is really only intended for Surface Pro 3 users who can't use facial/iris recognition for windows hello. Edited October 7, 2015 by JRowley
Arthur Posted October 7, 2015 Posted October 7, 2015 When are they releasing the surface pro 4? Any ideas? 12 November is the UK release date. The Surface Book might not be available in the UK until next year though.

MrMat Posted October 8, 2015 Posted October 8, 2015 (edited) Dooooooooooooo! I am so very tempted. I no longer have a tablet or a laptop so in need of both, figured one of these should fill both voids nicely. Wondering if the i7 is worth an additional £220?! Anyone with experience of the Surface 3 offer any thoughts? Edited October 8, 2015 by MrMat

MrMat Posted October 8, 2015 Posted October 8, 2015 id be tempted to wait and see if they flog off the surface 3 pro cheap to clear stock personally They have already dropped the prices a little bit. Think there's about £100 difference between the same spec models.
Arthur Posted October 8, 2015 Posted October 8, 2015 Experience the power of Surface Pro 4, Surface Book and Surface Hub at our Education Event - October 22nd - Microsoft UK Schools blog We have a slight confession to make. When we recently shared details of our Surface in Education event to be held at our Microsoft UK Headquarters on 22nd October, we didn’t give you the whole picture. As well as giving you the opportunity to interact and take a sneak peek at what the future of the classroom looks like with the power of Surface 3 and Surface Hub, we're now excited to tell you that you'll also be able to experience two brand new products that were only announced this week - Surface Pro 4 and Surface Book.
Wubbalubbadub Posted October 12, 2015 Posted October 12, 2015 email I got yesterday from the Microsoft UK Newsletter search "Early months of 2016" Jesus... Surface pro 4 it is then! Only a month to wait!

dry Posted October 15, 2015 Posted October 15, 2015 Experience the power of Surface Pro 4, Surface Book and Surface Hub at our Education Event - October 22nd - Microsoft UK Schools blog So is anyone going to this? I'm very tempted as it's just down the road. Not sure if I can justify it though- a whole day away from work to look at shiney new toys to play with that we will probably not be able to afford!
