MattDLEA Posted September 21, 2015 Posted September 21, 2015 I have a staff iPad that they want some photos taking off. Easy enough ? Plug it in a computer, trust then open the folder and away we go? No This worked last week I have been told but today the ipad in not showing the trust/dont trust pop up on any computer. Id did appear in my computer as ipad and then let you click on internal storage >and then the DCIM but it said the folder was empty 0 bytes. It clearly isnt. I have updated the ipad to 8.4.1 still no help only this time i only get Apple ipad > Internal Storage no DCIM folder Any ideas?
Joanne Posted September 21, 2015 Posted September 21, 2015 Plug into a mac.... that's what I have to do now
tmoon-mint Posted September 21, 2015 Posted September 21, 2015 Do you have iTunes installed on the machine? As far as I know there is an option buried in the iTunes settings enabling this feature.
themightymrp Posted September 21, 2015 Posted September 21, 2015 On the ipad go to settings -> general -> reset -> reset all settings. This won't wipe the ipad but next time you plug it into the computer you should get the trust popup again
NokiX Posted September 21, 2015 Posted September 21, 2015 To make it easier for staff we decided to go down the route of dropbox as we can create an account under the staff members email account and then install it on the ipad and their PC or laptop. This allows them to take photos and have them automatically sync to their PC without a cable. Quite handy for members of staff who are not great with computers!
j224 Posted September 21, 2015 Posted September 21, 2015 There's also the option of using an app like 'Simple Transfer'.
themightymrp Posted September 21, 2015 Posted September 21, 2015 I created an email account for each ipad so staff can just email the odd photo to themselves. It was a bit slow to setup for each ipad but has been worth the time investment. They still use a cable for large numbers of pics though
jenking Posted September 21, 2015 Posted September 21, 2015 Do you use 356 or GAPS! Uploading via the dive app is seamless for us!

It was a bit slow to setup for each ipad but has been worth the time investment. They still use a cable for large numbers of pics though I do something similar but with OneDrive for Business setup on each device and the OneDrive for Business app installed on my fileserver. Setup OneDrive as a mapped drive for everyone and they can now send and receive files to and from the device without a cable.
RLR Posted September 22, 2015 Posted September 22, 2015 Google Drive works well but if you don't want to use another application you can plug the iPad into a MAC and use the iPhoto application to view photos on the iPad.
MkII Posted September 22, 2015 Posted September 22, 2015 Online storage seems like a cumbersome solution. Painful for larger files, like your typical iMovie. I wondered about this, if it was the same deal as with phones that need a tool to delete other device entries associated with the host, as only one is allowed for, the logic being these are individual use devices and not intended to connect to any host en masse?
Joanne Posted September 23, 2015 Posted September 23, 2015 I found that they worked fine plugging into a PC before the 8.1.3 update I think. I've not got any iPads to connect to a PC after that update, but to be fair, I haven't really tried, because I just plugged them into the macbook after that and then transferred the files to the server.
steewy Posted October 5, 2015 Posted October 5, 2015 Hi, So it can come from 2 things: 1-if the iPad has profile on it, make sure your restriction profile allow the iPad to connect with an other machine that apple configurator or MDM. 2-if your iPad doesn't have a profile restriction, on your Windows, right click on Computer, Manage, go to device manager, then Universal Serial Bus (USB), right click of Apple iPad and uninstall drivers. Make sure you tick, yes delete curent drivers. Now connect your iPad, wait till the drivers are installed and boummm it works again
