Hi All, Im looking for the best chrome book for use with Primary Students. I'm getting mixed reports from suppliers. I like the Look of the ASUS Chromebook C202SA 4GB Cel-N3060 - https://www.asus.com/uk/Laptops/ASUS-Chromebook-C202SA/ - They look really robust and child friendly. I'm also hearing that the Dell Chromebook 11 (3180) 4GB Cel-N3060 are also good. Has any one used both these devices, or can any one offer me advice on the Best Chrome Book any model? I am thinking battery life and build quality are the two most important things? Last question is a 16gb ssd enough or would anyone advise 32gb? Thanks in advance

Do you use 356 or GAPS! Uploading via the dive app is seamless for us!

Also Id only ever buy new disks for a live environment! Id use referb/second-hand for a test lab or a workstation - but servers, never! There should always be enough money in the pot to stick to best practices, if not you need to persuade management to why you should! Some times easer said that done, worth it though!

Is your DC already virtual? If its not, I wouldn't go adding disks to set up an RDS! That is just a BAD idea!

Same with me! Iv just spoken with Microsoft 0344 800 2400 (option 4) Looks like they are working on it, they hope missing downloads and keys will be back soon! Windows 10 will be available from the VLC from the 1st!

Just re-read your question!! Within AD what do you set under your users profile tab .... Home folder?
-
Id personally Start again with permissions, therefore doing a basic robocopy to your new server. Recreate the shares using the rmtshare.exe and last off add your user permissions using xcacls.exe - both are Microsoft tools. You need to create a .csv to do this you need to output your directory foldernames to a .txt via cmd. I can send you some more info if required.

Take a look what i've just dug out, does anybody remember using these? First time installed it, I was lucky enough to have it on CD!!

Just a quickie! For those that use BitLocker, what make and model laptop's are you buying? The best I have found is this Lenovo, http://www.misco.co.uk/product/2162383/Lenovo-ThinkPad-E540-Intel-Core-i3-4100M-15-6inch-HD-500GB-DVDplus-RW-DL-Windows-7-Professional-64-preload-Windows-8-1-Pro64-RDVD-Laptop-Notebook-PC Cheers

Iv quickly changed the IP address on the Softlink Oliver, the IP taken from a server I host the intranet and a few SEN apps. Theses are all internal apps that don't require any out side connection. Low and behold I can now ping Google and telnet to the required z-cataloging sites. Looking good! The funny thing is Iv already tried three other Static Ip's - Im sure these were free from been used else where, i think they were old switches that are now extinct. None of them would let me ping out! In theory any Ip I use should be at least be able to ping Google if the proxy and IP protocol settings are correct. Ill check my serves and see how my others statics behave! Not to mention my DHCP workstations! Ill do some more digging with the Statics that's wont let me ping out, maybe a question for the smoothwall bunch or our LA. They keep seem to be changing things around, can never be sure where to point the figure. Can I thank you all for assistance, it is always much appreciated. I see we're all Yorkshire, cheers guys. Yea, we use our smoothwall/proxy internal ip & port for our workstations and some servers! With exception of using a different port that bypasses the filtering when adding the Ip in the exceptions list within smoothwall. Iv tried various combinations, obviously we can browse the net fine! The default gateway is set to the smoothwall as on all our other Servers/Workstations! Cheers Guys, ill try change the IP on the server one last time! I'm cracking up, it should just work! Giles -

Yea internal pings and look-ups work a treat! Ill try change the Ip to address of a server I can take down for the day, this server can definitely ping google fine. After that ill see what the LA say!
