Hi All,

Just wondering if anyone else had encountered the same bug as one of our users have.

When she gets the login.microsoftonline.com sign in page, and her credentials have been remembered on the device she uses, the button for her login name is unclickable, as are the three dots... also the 'use another account' button is also gone. Finally, if the device has saved any other credentials before, if she logs in, it magically forgets all of them too.

In case that was too incoherent, here's a screenshot:

This happens on every browser, on every device, on every Internet connection I have at disposal to test.. Chrome on Android, Safari on Mac, IE/Chrome on Windows 7/8/10, on our school Internet, my home connection, 4G phone network... I've never seen anything like it.

I'm just praying no-one else onsite has the same issue, or our big move to 365 is going to be dead in the water ..

Any advice is most appreciated!

Hi witch,

Thanks for the quick reply... no I don't think so, I need to grab the user to check. I've tried on her behalf but I think she's changed the password again since testing friday (can't begrudge good security!). I've notice an odd one though. She's got an apostrophe in her email address, when I try and login as her, it bounces it giving 'This doesn't look like a valid user ID', and changes the apostrophe to '

She's not the only user we have with that (their email address is initial.surname), so I don't think it's important.

I had this on Friday.

Its storing something in the local profile.

Made a new email account without the ' and forwarding with old account to it.

I haven't had this exact issue, but recently encountered a problem where Outlook 2010 wouldn't open the profile of an O365 user because it was using out of date credentials (and didn't prompt for new ones). To get around it you open the credentials manager and delete the relevant entries.

Might be worth a try I suppose, though in our case they could login to O365 through a browser.

Mmmmm well I guess at least I'm not the only one. @cooper, I'd rather not take that route unless I have to, but I've been considering it as plan B. @JRowley, the issue occurs even on android unfortunately, whatever the bug is, it's based in the interaction between the user's account and the way the login page is coded I guess..

Hi,

Providing the UserPrincipalName meets the requirements outlined here: https://support.office.com/en-gb/article/Prepare-to-provision-users-through-directory-synchronization-to-Office-365-01920974-9e6f-4331-a370-13aea4e82b3e then you should not have any issues and the login form should work as normal.

What operating system is the device running, have you tried using an InPrivate Browser Session? If so, and it works.. then you may need to reset the browser data as something seems cached that it does not like although even so i'd be interested to know what.

I would be interested to know more about this behaviour, and I personally would like to know what slice your hitting so if you have time be nice if we can have a chat (send me a PM as i'd rather not discuss specific details related to you via forum post)

Or/ Open a Support Incident and it will end up getting to me at some point most likely if this is a actually a bug.

Many Thanks,

James.

Hi EduTech, as outlined in the original post "Chrome on Android, Safari on Mac, IE/Chrome on Windows 7/8/10" - the bug happens on the very first sign-out, every single time on every device I have at my disposal.. resetting browser data does clear it, but it's not a totally workable solution.

But I will PM you.

Hi,

The next time this happens to any of you on here, can you please take a decrypted fiddler trace to start with, then reach out to me. We can remove any creds that maybe parsed, and then if possible i'd like to review it as this is very interesting behaviour.

I may also need to loop any of you whom are affected into an internal discussion so we can investigate this further with you, see what is going on and weather it is something we need to fix or/ explain the reason for this behaviour.

I appreciate your support, and thanks for bringing it up. I just need a repro of it now to move forward..

Thanks,

James.
