They say there's no AMZ data, so hard to tell. Maybe for a few hours they did sell it at that higher price?

 

Looking at the wristband a few posts ago gives you a better idea of how the site normally works (and confirms my decision not to buy Prime just in case of bargains - which wasn't at all apathy).

Any ideas why the prime deals work fine on the UK site but when I sign in on the US site it's asking me to sign up for Prime again. Saw a pretty good deal on a 512GB SSD that I wanted to grab on the US site but not looking like that will happen.

A UK Prime subscription is only applicable to the UK Amazon site. Amazon don't allow Uk residents to order from other Amazon sites as far as I know, unless you have an address in that country - and an account for that country.

Sign up for a trial, job done.

 

I wasn't sure that would work, gave it a try and it does. Shame that after import tax it's only saving me about £20. Might still go for it but I'll have to consider it move carefully than when it was ~£60 saving.

That part isn't quite true. I have ordered items from Amazon.com, Amazon.de, Amazon.es and Amazon.it before and had them delivered to my home address. It often depends on the item. An Amazon Prime subscription purchased in the UK is only valid in this country however.

 

The European Amazon websites can often be quite a bit cheaper than Amazon.co.uk. e.g.

Weird. We tried ordering stuff from amazon.fr and it refused to do it for us. Item specific as you say then.

absolutely ziltch. Almost all of it looked to be along the lines of what have we (amazon) bought that we need to get shut of because nobody wants this. did buy cowboy beebop on blueray from amazon though not on sale

I managed to resist buying anything at all! I was equally surprised and proud of myself! The only thing I was really keeping an eye out for was a webcam, there was one on but it was still £30 so I decided against it...

Was that the Logitech one? I think Shaun might have grabbed one for EduGeek as it's 1080p and will be good for recording stuff at events :)

You can order from any Amazon site, but you have to set up separate Amazon accounts for each site. Had to do this myself a couple of years ago because my OH insisted on a very particular mouse that wasn't available on any UK site that I could find, so ended up buying from Amazon.es - I still get the occasional promo in Spanish from them :rolleyes:

I was going to buy the ASUS ROG 144Hz 1440p G-Sync monitor.. But then my housemate offered to sell me his for £300 (as my monitor is 4K and he watches films etc on his PC whereas I don't) so I'm going to buy his off him and then give him mine. (His cost almost twice of what mine did as it's G-Sync)

 

So all I bought was the Sony smartband.

Are you sure that's a fair deal?

 

They're only ~£550 new, so assuming your monitor cost approx half of that at £275 and you're paying £300 on top - you just paid £575 for a second hand one... :confused:

Yes. Because A) It's only a few months old, B) I know he's treated it well and C) It costs less than buying one brand-new :p

What's the point of paying more to buy a brand new one, only to have a 4K monitor sat around not being used? Part of the deal is I get it as-good-as-new for cheaper than new, and he gets my screen in return.

 

Edit: Also it was closer to £700 when he bought it, so I don't consider it unreasonable. Mine was just over £300 I think. But realistically I want a G-Sync screen but I want a bigger resolution than SHD. So 1440p meets that requirement.. 4K for general use is just too much real-estate. I find myself scaling things up so much that I might as well just have it at a half the resolution and it'd look exactly the same. And the fact that it's 144Hz is a huge bonus.

Bought myself a Fire TV stick, I stream netflix to my laptop usually and £20 to move it to my bigger TV instead seems like a good deal along with the other services available. Just need to cancel my TV license when I move house as I don't watch it anyway.

Seemed a load of tosh to me, wanted to get a cheap ps4 bundle but the only one they had on offer was their most expensive (which i couldn't justify even with discount)

I'm pretty certain you can get those in fulwood Asda for around a tenner. Or was it sainsburys? I can never remember.

 

If most of the women in there are accompanied by a gaggle of screaming kids and have backsides that fill the aisle it's probably Asda.
