cmorgan Posted June 23, 2015 Posted June 23, 2015 I know the maintenance window is till 8:30 but is it just me or is the old system still working fine? Just been playing and seeing what if anything breaks. Go to Google and look at HTTPs cert, and whether it's on (IE/Firefox/Chrome) proxy. staffproxy. or sslfilter. all shows Google cert, no warnings/errors? (even on filtered results etc) I am seeing this as well. Come on RM, sort it out.
localzuk Posted June 23, 2015 Posted June 23, 2015 Yup, same here. No interception going on here. They just sent out an email saying that the scheduled maintenance relating to this has been completed too, as of 8:30.
Boredguy Posted June 23, 2015 Posted June 23, 2015 even 5 minutes after they completed maintenance it shows as normal still.. fun
cmorgan Posted June 23, 2015 Posted June 23, 2015 I just removed the RM certificate from my own PC so I will know as soon as it starts to intercept! And now we wait...
Steve21 Posted June 23, 2015 Author Posted June 23, 2015 Nope... Still left few of my machines on old proxies and all working as expected. Steve
localzuk Posted June 23, 2015 Posted June 23, 2015 I've logged a call. Their initial response was that I should check I have the certificate installed - so completely ignored what I was saying...
Oaktech Posted June 23, 2015 Posted June 23, 2015 I've seen nothing so far. I've done all the checks I can think of and the cert is installed fine. RM just aren't doing it yet!
X-13 Posted June 23, 2015 Posted June 23, 2015 This is not a good thread to be reading when I'm off work... Hopefully it's sorted by tomorrow.
cmorgan Posted June 23, 2015 Posted June 23, 2015 Ok just had a brief outage when using a sslfilter.* proxy. Its come back up and google is showing as being signed by RM Education. Let the testing commence... Cheers for letting us know though lads...

Smee Posted June 23, 2015 Posted June 23, 2015 I thought I'd done everything that RM had requested but now we've lost proxy through sslfilter etc. Have I missed something?
cmorgan Posted June 23, 2015 Posted June 23, 2015 I thought I'd done everything that RM had requested but now we've lost proxy through sslfilter etc. Have I missed something? No, it just looks to be an 'unadvertised interruption'. Ours came back after 2-3 mins.
Oaktech Posted June 23, 2015 Posted June 23, 2015 (edited) I think it's just the staff proxy here so far... Student login in still showing google certs. and between walking from one computer to the other it's updated and we are all showing RM certs now. Fingers crossed. Edited June 23, 2015 by Oaktech
jlucas Posted June 23, 2015 Posted June 23, 2015 Anyone having problems with Firefox on macs? The Certificates installed and Safari works fine but Firefox gives connection untrusted.
Smee Posted June 23, 2015 Posted June 23, 2015 Mine all seems to be back and working now. spoke to someone at RM and they said the issue was at their end?
localzuk Posted June 23, 2015 Posted June 23, 2015 Anyone having problems with Firefox on macs? The Certificates installed and Safari works fine but Firefox gives connection untrusted. Firefox has its own certificate store I believe!
FragglePete Posted June 23, 2015 Posted June 23, 2015 Kicked in here also - I changed the proxy address via GPO last night and google is now showing a certificate signed by RM. Deployed the Certificate across the domain sometime ago now. Pete

Deployed the Certificate across the domain sometime ago now. Pete I had everything changed within 24 hours of them sending the email... Except for a couple of weird ass registry hacks that had proxy details in them. They took a couple more days but I was totally using the sslfilter.blah address within a week. I've just been watching and waiting with everything crossed that could be crossed, because as we all know, Google is the internet.
jlucas Posted June 23, 2015 Posted June 23, 2015 Firefox has its own certificate store I believe! Of course it does. Grand. That's going to make today interesting. I've also had a few problems with students not being able to click on images in Google image search. Clicking doesn't open the image in the drop down box as it usually would.
JGoswell Posted June 23, 2015 Posted June 23, 2015 We have now completed our schedule of changes to begin SSL interception and testing suggests this is working successfully. If you have any questions or want to confirm SSL interception is working at your site please feel free to call the Service Desk.
Boredguy Posted June 23, 2015 Posted June 23, 2015 (edited) Anyone noticed if Chrome is showing the RM certificate yet? Relaunched it a couple of times on my station which happily shows the RM certificate in IE, but Chrome still shows the google one. Nm, now behaving blasted computer.
