  1. hi, we were the victim of a cyber attack recently (it was in the news) and we have had to recreate everything ! including building a new domain, unfortunately we were advised not to re use our old internal domain, and i had to disable ad sync as it was causing issues with our office 365 users. I've reinstalled Azure AD Connect and it's syncing with our tenant, however, it's not linking back up with all our existing users, and i'm getting synchronization reports stating that the object has been updated, but with some modified properties, because the following attributes are associated with another object, which i guess they are ( the old Synced users in office 365) what i would like to know if there is a way to link all the users backup (all local usernames exactly match the old ones ) i've updated the proxy address attribute in AD, and recreated the alternate domain for our domain forest as we use a different internal domain than our email domain. i'm just at a point where i want to bang my head against the wall at the moment. has anyone else had similar issues ? Thanks
  2. works now at some point java had updated (again) and was using the incorrect version. problem solved by replacing the link.
  3. No no longer works
  4. Brill, yeah that version of java did the trick, seems to now work. thanks DaveAshworth
  5. how did you force it to use a specific version of Java ? i'm struggling to find that.
  6. I too have this issue, previously i was able to install a specific version of java, with a botched unsupported graphics driver, however this no longer works. personally, i feel that as a school that subscribes to their open volume licensing, it should be free, i realise they do this free for a year if you have purchased a Windows 10 device, but 1 year is no good.
  7. RM have just fixed our issue and will releasing a fix for it, for us removing them did not resolve the issue as it kept installing again KB4014505. apparently some .NET Reg entry was allowing the update to install regardless of the WSUS setup, and must have been installing locally on each server. they are updating their guides to show this. somewhen...
  8. ive just looked on our First server and they don't seem to be installed, what do those KB's do ?
  9. I too have this problem on our network, however the update has been declined in WSUS, but another update KB4014505 which RM mention in their article TEC5173330 says to remove also, the problem we seem to be facing is that KB4014505 does not show in WSUS, so we can't decline it, if we uninstall KB4014505 it keeps installing again, after reboot the servers. Any ideas ?
  10. ta just spotted that...
  11. seems that they removed it ??? https://steemit.com/shadowbrokers/@t...na-cry-edition
  12. Firstly many many thanks for all your suggestions and comments, they were all very helpful. After Microsoft not being very helpful (only working on the symptoms), after digging a little deeper, and actually opening my eyes i noticed that there was a typo (how this got there i have no clue) with the UPN, it was spelt "school.county,sch.uk".. yeah i didnt spot it straight away, i managed to find a script that i'll post below that changed them. How that got there i have no idea, because there was no entry on the DC in UPN Suffixes, (if anyone has any ideas how i can check this and remove it for good that would be great?) saved the above as a .ps1 file and ran it after changing the $Suffixs and $OU and $Server. Regarding the Azure AD Connect i'll install that on another server i think after your advice on here. Cheers Chaps !
  13. Firstly i would like to say thank you for reading my post, i'm still fairly new to this kind of setup to please try and follow the best you can, and i will answer the best i can. Our current setup as follows: Secondary School. Windows 2012 R2 FRDC : DirSync Installed syncing to Office 365 using original tenant Admin account. Exchange Server 2010 - All users apart from afew have been migrated over to Office365, and has been working fine for a while now. Ok so one of the issue's is that i have read in a few places that DirSync should not be installed on the FRDC (Why is this? and can i move it?) A more pressing issue is that suddenly within the last week, Users that are synchronized to Office 365 are having their usernames Changed from our Schools Domain name "School.County.sch.uk" back to the default "Tenantname.onmicrosoft.com", however thier primary email address remains as the "school.county.sch.uk", I have added the UPN on our FRDC which made no difference, and I have manually selected all the users in "Users and computers" and made sure they are using "school.county.sch.uk" however they are still not changing in Office 365, am i missing a vital step here? if you need more information please let me know i will provide ASAP. Kind Regards Paul
  14. Good morning everyone, our school is in the process of converting to a Multi Academy Trust, at the moment our school uses an exchange 2010 server, however the school and myself want to start using office 365, can anyone direct me to some kind of guide to help me through this process, not having had anything to do with office 365 before i'm hoping some kind people on here are willing to share there knowledge and experience to help. I'm aware it's cloud based, but is there a "admin" account i should have access to that will allow me to at least look at what i need to start this process over the next few months or so? I believe we have had the option to use Office 365 for some time, but never got round to setting it up. can anyone help ? thanks Paul S
  15. Great Scott !! Yes please.

  17. Hi, i have no idea, i did not create the package, was made well before i started working at this school. all our computers are now x64 school. i was going to repackage the software but when trying this on a freshly built x64 computer i got the same error. - - - Updated - - - but yes it did previously work on x86 computers.
  18. Hi there we have a package for our CC4 network, it installs perfectly fine, we are using Windows 7 Pro SP1 X64 machines, but the program itself will not run, the error show below: and gives the following details: Description: Stopped working Problem signature: Problem Event Name: APPCRASH Application Name: RW8.exe Application Version: 8.1.0.15605 Application Timestamp: 45a2036b Fault Module Name: KERNELBASE.dll Fault Module Version: 6.1.7601.23002 Fault Module Timestamp: 5507b734 Exception Code: e0434f4d Exception Offset: 000000000000adad OS Version: 6.1.7601.2.1.0.256.48 Locale ID: 2057 i realise this version is no longer supported, but i'm hoping someone has managed to get around this? without having the buy a new version..
  19. have i missed something ?? what is happening today ? we are already using sslfilter.proxy.swgfl.blah and sslfilter.staffproxy.swgfl... i've not had any emails ? thanks Paul S

  21. Have a misseds something.. what's happening today ? FacePalmed myself already.
  22. I've added a few contacts 9 (about 6) to be used in a group, I've created the Mail Universal Distribution Group, I've also ticked the "hide from Exchange address lists" option for each contact, as we don't wan't our students to be able to send to them. However doing this, stops them from showing in the Mail Distribution Group, which means no contacts show up when someone wants to send a message to the group. does anyone have any ideas why this is happening ? I have done this before using Exchange 2007, but since we upgraded to 2010, it doesn't work ! Am i missing something out here ? I hope i explained it enough if not, please let me know and i'll make an effort to explain in more detail. Thanks Paul S
  23. I Tried VirtualDJ Support : Here is there Response. Hi, sorry to tell you VDJ is a stand alone product and not designed to work inside a network! You have to install VDJ on a computer with a user that have admin rights. You have to use the same user to start/use VDJ on that computer. 25. I've just this minute recieved an email from Greg asking me to : Hi Paul, We have been asked to do some further tests, as we think we may have found the issue. 1. Please clear your cache (If using IE, by pressing ctrl+F5 a couple times) 2. In the command prompt a. Ipconfig /flushdns 3. Please retest Staff Proxy, if IE fails try it again in a different browser like before and update the call. By the way, do you have an ISA or local proxy device on your site?
