Homer Posted June 8, 2015 Posted June 8, 2015 Evening people Who are you getting your SSL certs from at the moment? I would like one that has the chain on pretty much any platform - Windows, Mac, iOS, Android. One of our GoDaddy certs isn't valid on iOS which is annoying Cheers Steve
pete Posted June 8, 2015 Posted June 8, 2015 GoDaddy & StartSSL at the moment. GoDaddy is cheap and effective* but annoys me because, well, it's GoDaddy and all the drama that entails. StartSSL has that funky SHA1 intermediate cert if you're using the free version. If you're willing to pay (unlimited subdomains) they ask you to send scanned copies of (passport/driving license) to them, which falls under "Nope" (for me at least). They are (IME) very responsive to queries and reasonable requests however. A couple of people have mentioned gogetssl.com and namecheap.com, but poking around web hosting forums for decent reviews is just painful. *I'd be interested in knowing which GoDaddy cert is triggering iOS to be unhappy, just in case it's biting us but everyone assumes I know and so haven't mentioned it.

Lewys Posted June 9, 2015 Posted June 9, 2015 I use Namecheaps certs, PositiveSSL provided by Comodo. We do the same. Never had any issues with Namecheap, Comodo or the certificates.
john Posted June 9, 2015 Posted June 9, 2015 GoDaddy - not had any issues with them GoDaddy for us for hundreds of certificates for us, we have had a couple of issues with the latest iOS update rejecting some older Go Daddy certs that are not SHA256 but a simple re-issue fixed that and the issues went away and tbh you should be re-keying old certs not in SHA-256 for security.
