Hi, new member here. Duke, is the driver package you attached specific to Smart Notebook 11, or will it work with Smart Notebook 2013 or other versions?

After updating our staff computers to Win10 64-bit, I'm running into the same glitches you mentioned re touch recognition on our Smartboard SB680s. In Device Manager, until Human Interface Devices, I updated the drivers for SMART HID Device and SMART Virtual Tablet PC with what I believe are the appropriate drivers in the x64 folder of your package. Are there drivers other than these two that still need updating?

Hey there, those drivers were actually ripped out of a Notebook 14 installer. I think it's just the HID device that needs the new one. Just point it at the root directory containing the contents of that zip and let Device Manager fish the one out that has the correct device ID in the INF. As soon as it's loaded touch should immediately start working correctly.

Long shot, does anyone have the 11.4 msi or a version 10 msi please?

I have a version 10 exe but I'm not about to go around and manually install if I don;t have to!

Thanks

At this point I would suggest looking at Notebook Basic. I still run 11.4 here at my school, but I have seen it get more and more problematic as time goes by, funny issues with Windows 10. With the removal of Flash from Windows 10, Notebook 11 is even less useful with the broken animations that depended on Flash. I hope to be upgrading most of our PC's at the end of this year to Notebook Basic now.

Of course if you need the older version for Windows 7 then that's a different matter of course.

Looking at this page, Notebook Basic all sounds good until the last comparison, "A SMART watermark appears on each page when the computer is not connected to a SMART Board.". I expect that is why a lot of schools hang on to 11.4.

Anyone know if 11.4 works with Windows 11?

Hi all,

Not directly linked, however here at BenQ we have recently released the first version of EZWrite 6 for PC. It is free and although in its infancy, it does feature a 300% scalable canvas & will open .iwb & .notebook files. You may find some of the assets don't transfer over, however you may find this useful. You can download and register for the free license here - https://www.benq.com/en-ap/business/ifp/ezwrite-6.html (localised landing page due shortly, but this will work). It is new software and is being developed for all the time. Any questions let me know.

Amazing! We've got BenQ screens already so this is a great bonus.

Is there a Site activation code rather than having to create a bunch of email addresses to get individual activation codes please?

Hi,

Not yet, there will be in the new year, but I don't have an exact date yet.

Chris

Any movement on this yet? I'm about to buy a bunch of BenQ boards and it'll make my life a lot easier if it can be site activated.

Hi,

I've been using 11.4 forever (due to the obscene amount they charge for the yearly license).

It runs fine on every version of Windows I've put it on, including the latest Windows 10 LTSC. Only issue I've encountered is the installer puts Flashplayer on, other than that it works (the flash based part has issues though).

That said, most of my staff have started using PowerPoint instead due to the fact you can now annotate directly inside the software.

Hope that helps.
