sparkeh Posted May 7, 2015 Posted May 7, 2015 For people who are interested in games dev you could do worse than take a look at this course: Gamer Camp : Gamer Camp: Start Your Career in Games I took my nephew to an open day a couple of weeks ago and the course looks awesome and has stunning figures on post course employment in the games industry (and decent jobs too). 1
CAM Posted May 7, 2015 Posted May 7, 2015 Primary School Teacher. I ended up secondary support staff instead, near enough! I wanted to be a train driver at one point but decided it was boring after playing a simulator. And I'm medically banned anyway!

halbaradkenafin Posted May 7, 2015 Posted May 7, 2015 For some reason I wanted to be a priest for a while, I've never been very religious so I'm not sure what the appeal was. I also had a phase of wanting to be part of the Thunderbirds team but I suspect I was too young to fully realise they weren't real. Towards the end of secondary school I wanted to join the RAF as some form of support staff but never really looked into it properly for some reason.

tmcd35 Posted May 7, 2015 Posted May 7, 2015 Growing up - I was fascinated with the law. Wanted to be a Bobby at one point, then barrister. My english (subject) was never good enough for that one. Looking back - I wish I'd worked harder at english (subject) and realised games journalism could be a serious career. Now - I think I found the round hole this square peg fits in. I hate to say it, but I'm probably in the right place now.

I went to university to study accountancy and economics And then, at university, I studied computing alongside the other two subjects and my marks reflected my interests. I changed my degree and the rest is history

X-13 Posted May 7, 2015 Posted May 7, 2015 I'm sure it said that you can do distance learning... I haven't seen that, but I did notice the fact these aren't actually real courses. It's an apprenticeship that costs just under £10,000 and requires a degree to apply for.
