I've got a feel recently that many here are slowly migrating away from Sky\Virgin and other traditionally delivered media and are now increasingly subscribing to streaming channels, often saving a bundle in the process.

So what is it you are watching and how much is it costing you?

Me I have Netflix @£5.99 and Crunchy Roll (Anime, manga etc.) @4.99 a month.

Beats the pants off the paid for junk channels on Virgin :)

I have Netflix, and for that I use the app on the PS4/TV to access UK Netflix and installed Hola for Firefox on my HTPC to get access to US Netflix.

(It works in Chrome too, but I found the playback of full screen video in Chrome a bit stuttery, Firefox seems much smoother to me)

It occurred to me that I hardly ever watch live TV any more. Even the news get sidelined as I'm so used to customised content.

I've got a Humax Freesat recorder for programmes that I want to record.

For streaming, I use Netflix. I also won a £200 credit for Blinkbox movies, which works OK on the Chromecast. Blinkbox has a good choice, and it's PAYG, but it's quite expensive compared with Netflix.

Netflix and Freesat - the latter because the (soon to be ex) house only has a satellite dish. I don't watch that much TV, I got Netflix for house of cards and have kept it for a few other series I'm working through. It has probably worked out quite expensive way to see HOC.

Sky but that is because of F1 and last week kickstarted Netflix again. Tend to have that for a couple of months at a time and turn off for a couple of months.

Cruncyroll is pretty awesome TBH. Far, far more choices than Netflix for anime and gets the very latest shows from Japan if you don't mind subtitles.

Currently we are watching Parasyte The Maxim:

The only problem I have is that the Roku app is a bit naff and does not keep track of what episodes you have watched and what point you stopped watching an episode as Netflix does.

Yeah, it's always an issue with anime. The time it takes to dub an entire series is far more time consuming than doing a single movie and the voice actors are in great demand which often delays the English language versions by quite some time.

I'm just waiting with baited breath for the next season of Attack on Titan to arrive :) in the meantime there is a live action movie being made. The guy behind it also did this ad for Subaru:

I've got into YouTube big time of late - KindaFunny, IGN, Jimquisition, Gamespot, Ashens, Zero Punctuation, Crash Course, etc...

Beyond that it's mostly a combination of Netflix (House of Cards, Bloodline, Damages, House, The Killing, etc) and BBC iPlayer for documentries (currently watching Back In Time For Dinner).

I still have an active NowTV entertainment subscription but question its value. I got it for The Walking Dead, American Horror Story, and Game of Thrones mostly. I got bored watching Walking Dead and American Horror Story weekly and didn't finish the series (or others I found interesting but waiting a week, eh). Probably wait and binge watch Seasons 1-5 of Game of Thrones once the latest season magically appears on my Plex system. Might give the Walking Dead another try later in the year on a similar binge watch if it comes to Plex...

Netflix, but we access through our Tivo box. couldn't be without the Tivo :)

I'm falling out of love with my Tivo (I take it you have a Virgin Tivo too?) now. It's got very slow and painful to use at times, even coming fully out of standby to use menu's can take the best part of a minute.

Oh? Something wrong with your box/connection perhaps? Ours is pretty snappy (yeah VM Tivo).

Netflix all the way.

I've tried Amazon prime movies, couldn't find much that didn't require an extra purchase.

Also tried love film, but I watch far more series than films and found this to be lacking...

I also occasionally buy films on blink box, mainly when I get free vouchers from tesco or because I get club are points too.
