Garacesh Posted February 4, 2016 Posted February 4, 2016 As long as the third guy isn't Tim Westwood (or whatever his name was from the UK Pimp my Ride) then it could always be worse.
LeMarchand Posted February 4, 2016 Posted February 4, 2016 I cant stand Chris and no matter what shows he is on I end up switching over after 10 minutes. Lots of people feel that way about Clarkson, me included. Mind you, I only find Evans slightly less annoying.
6Foot2 Posted February 4, 2016 Posted February 4, 2016 As long as the third guy isn't Tim Westwood (or whatever his name was from the UK Pimp my Ride) then it could always be worse. I think you are correct when you say Tim Westwood:
mthomas08 Posted February 5, 2016 Posted February 5, 2016 Lots of people feel that way about Clarkson, me included. Mind you, I only find Evans slightly less annoying. I know, but as I said. After about ten minutes I would change the channel and move on. If at the end of the day I find Evans too annoying on Top Gear, I will simply not watch it and change the channel. There are some people who make it obvious they don't like some one then moan all day about the fact they *had to put up with them. As if you've been tied to a chair and forced to watch some one you don't like... strange but true 1
LeMarchand Posted February 5, 2016 Posted February 5, 2016 I know, but as I said. After about ten minutes I would change the channel and move on. I don't even give Clarkson 10 seconds unless it's on HIGNFY, where I tolerate him because the rest of them offset his presence.
CHR1S Posted February 8, 2016 Posted February 8, 2016 As long as the third guy isn't Tim Westwood (or whatever his name was from the UK Pimp my Ride) then it could always be worse. Can we add his name to the censor list please? I once wanted to go on Pimp My Ride UK for the sole reason of punching him when he turned up at my door, would have been so worth it!!

I've met Tim Westwood before and though he speaks like a tool he's the nicest bloke you'll ever meet!!

Mr_Jiminy Posted February 8, 2016 Posted February 8, 2016 Papers are touting Eddie Jordan as the possible member of the rehashed TG team. *Apologies if this has been mentioned elsewhere*

Ant Posted February 11, 2016 Posted February 11, 2016 (edited) Meet your new Top Gear presenters! | Top Gear ^ Too many presenters? Not sure about Eddie Jordon, but now the rumours have been confirmed, I'm really looking forward to see what they put together! They're going to need a bigger budget for tyres with Chris Harris on the team though. Edited February 11, 2016 by Ant
mthomas08 Posted February 11, 2016 Posted February 11, 2016 Meet your new Top Gear presenters! | Top Gear ^ Too many presenters? I think it is too many, my guess is Eddie wont go abroad and do "things". He's the guy who will offer an opinion if you like it or not. The hard part, get rid of the two unknowns, Chris Evans and I would seriously enjoy watching Matt, Eddie and Sabine. Eddie and Sabine are certainly going to clash and Matt could be the laid back one. Such a shame they have Chris... it is looking like the show I want to watch but.. I cant put my self through Evans. I'd end up like these people who watch shows and complain about them all day..

The old formula was stale anyway so a total change may be a good thing

I suspect, unlike the old format, they won't have all of the presenters together all the time, rather branch out to them when needed to do features and such like. I agree with you about Eddie. Who are the two unknowns you're referring to? They are all pretty well known in the car world. If I had to pick, it would have to be Sabine and Harris. I'm still not sure about Rory having watched his stuff in the past. Chris Evans can stay if they have access to drive his car collection, although he doesn't bug me as much as he does others. No idea why they have the Stig still though! 3 of the new presenters could probably beat or match his times already.

hardtailstar Posted February 11, 2016 Posted February 11, 2016 I think its interesting with all the new presenters. Although I do think its too many. I have seen Rory Reid on things before and hes ok, not sure what he is like with Cars though.
Patrick Posted February 11, 2016 Posted February 11, 2016 Chris Harris is the only decent one. When Evans tanks it over the next year or two he should be the lead.
Norphy Posted February 11, 2016 Posted February 11, 2016 To be honest, it almost sounds like they're going back to "old" top gear, back in the days of Quentin Wilson et al.
Mr_Jiminy Posted February 11, 2016 Posted February 11, 2016 I find it interesting they need six presenters to replace three... What on earth is 'Auntie' playing at!!!???
Norphy Posted February 11, 2016 Posted February 11, 2016 I think that @sted is correct, they're doing their best to make sure that they're not aping the previous format. That's a good thing considering that Clarkson, Hammond, May and Wilman have their own show on Amazon, the last thing they want to do is imitate that.
sted Posted February 11, 2016 Posted February 11, 2016 I find it interesting they need six presenters to replace three... What on earth is 'Auntie' playing at!!!??? i suspect some will be studio based (if i had to guess evans/jordan possible leblanc) the rest will be "track" based
korifugi Posted February 11, 2016 Posted February 11, 2016 So we have... (from left to right) Rory Reid: Had to google. Found an American attourney instead. Unknown (to me) Sabine Schmitz: Racer. Brilliant choice - can easily give the Stig a run for his (it's?) money. Matt LeBlanc: Petrolhead Actor - Should be made to review a Porsche and do the 'Joey' "It's pronounced Porsch-a", but only once as likening him to his Friends character will get old VERY quickly. Chris Evans: Used to be funny but no longer in his prime. Problems talking and driving at same time. Chris Harris: Car Journalist / Occasional Racer. Should be fun if hard on tyres. Not allowed to review Ferraris / Lambos Eddie Jordan: Knows one hell of a lot about racing. Open about opinions. Probably brought in to fulfil the old "Clarkson opinion" quota - may not offend as many. The Stig: Some say, he's already composing poetry in binary and has changed the oil he uses as aftershave in an effort to woo Sabine - all we know, he's called The Stig. 1
Ant Posted February 11, 2016 Posted February 11, 2016 I'll leave this here for anyone interested: Chris Harris on Cars. His most recent test of the P1, LaF and 918 with Tiff Needell and Marino Franchitti is worth a watch. As is the one of him thrashing an .
LeMarchand Posted February 11, 2016 Posted February 11, 2016 I find it interesting they need six presenters to replace three... What on earth is 'Auntie' playing at!!!??? They probably got all 6 for less than Clarkson's expense rider.
