Microsoft Learning Network Manager (LNM)is an amazing tool that greatly

simplifies administration of Windows 2003 and can be more valuable to a

School IT Administrator than an extensive and expensive training program

for him or her.

 

With LNM, a School IT Admin can do such things as set up

all users on Windows 2003 in a matter of minutes rather than spend

sometimes a week or more entering hundreds or thousands of user names.

 

LNM is designed to hugely simplify and speed up every network

administration task on Windows 2003. It is especially useful to

inexperienced School IT Administrators enabling them to understand and

operate a Windows network as easily as a highly trained and experienced

Windows Network Administrator.

 

LNM completely automates server installation and configuration, it also

deploys the workstation OS and applications, configures users profiles

and restrictions, controls internet access and when configured with

appropriate hardware resources, also provides Terminal Services access

for as many users as the hardware can support.

 

LNM can be used to deploy Server 2003 and establish new domains, or will

easily integrate into existing native deployments.

Hummm looks good. If it does what it says on the tin, I can see alot of worried faces at some "well known" education companys.

I was looking to remove Ranger this year and just having Net Support for Schools on for the staff to use, but if this is coming out soon and looks useful then I may defer my plans and save a lot of cash

How will it integrate into already networks that have already been set up?

Who on earth sets up an entire years worth of new users MANUALLY ffs! Thats what the command line is for! Do a dump of new intake from SIMS into a CSV file and use DSADD or CSVDE or similar to create the users and job is done in ten minutes, seven of which it takes to write the fricking script!

 

Otherwise, looks interesting. I'll definately give it a spin on Monday.
