Plus, unless you plan on basing yourself down somewhere in nullsec you'll get into a war and die a lot up in high sec so..

 

It's generally a bad idea to start a corp from scratch unless you've got a good plan or an alliance ready to jump into.

 

Also PM me for the TS, keep in mind I'm usually hanging around in the DayZ or my own room recording something so don't poke me pls.

Maybe one day I'll try it but I don't think that's really my thing.. I like recording games and turning them into stories - though that makes it sound like I'm already established when in reality I'm spending weeks editing a damn video!

I, too, toyed with the idea of streaming. But my Hauppauge box only records at 1080p HD max (I think, have yet to test, actually..) and I run my pc at 1440p now, so afaik it won't work anymore

Haha can you imagine? A 'News' corp that everybody agrees not to engage.. Sit there in battle streaming it and reporting what's going on. That would be kinda cool, actually.

Yeah, probably.. But would be cool nonetheless.. Fly noob ships built entirely out of Veldspar so they're easy to replace, fit them with long-range scanners, keep 'em insured.

There has been at least one instance of a Dev showing up to a big fight to get some real time data of the lag etc and got uncloaked and alpha'd off the field by both sides.

Its not uncommon to see a few noobcorp shuttles in the distance during big fights, people use them as throw away scouts, and during a battle nobody will be wasting ammo on a shuttle till the end.

They had a pretty cool toolkit made up for the Alliance Tournament and similar events but the dev who created it (and apparently was pretty much the only person who could get it to behave properly) has left in the past few months.

 

On a side note: anyone know if the rats in missions still target swap at random? I'm deciding what ship to get for missions and don't want to go for a drone ship or something to find that the rats keep swapping to the drones and cost me tons of money.

I don't think it's necessarily random, it's just a weird algorithm I think. When I was last playing (last month..), most of the time the rats would ignore my drones however smaller rats tended to go for them regardless of how much 'threat' I gave. I think it's just one of those things that'll always be a bit weird, just keep an eye on the drones and pull 'em in when you need to

That's not too bad then, I usually focus the small stuff first to get rid of webs and scraps. Guess I'll have a play around in pyfa tonight to figure out what I want to use, my drake fit is very tanky but dps is too low to do level 4s in a reasonable amount of time. Might splash out for one of the BS, not sure which one though.

I run lvl 4's in my CNR and I originally was using a Drake, I just keep using a MJD and sniping until everything's dead! it worked when I first got a Raven about a year ago and it's still working! I guess it depends on your skills and range etc though.

Only got Cal BS 2 and I think Cruise Missile 4. I'll probably try that style in the Typhoon (or whatever the Minmatar missile one is) as I've got Minmatar BS 4.

Ravens are pretty good, you cant get a tank as good as a drake, you would probably need an active tank and it wont be cap stable, Dommies are pretty nice, you can get a good tank on them but most DPS comes from drones and you cant up the damage with modules. Yeah, I've flown Mael, Raven and Dominix before, active tank is fine for me as I only need it for long enough to kill off the majority of the incoming damage which is likely to only take a few minutes. Drones now do have a damage module like other weapon systems, I recall using them in ratting ishtars last year.

 

I'll throw together a few fits in pyfa and figure out what I want to use, I think one of my clones has some crystals in it so I'll probably favour a shield tank to make use of those.
