Pffft, you'll manage! I'm going to be juggling between 2 other MMO's and DayZ but there will always be time for EVE!

Same, I'll be juggling WoW, WoT and apparently a job and probably eating and stuff. Not sure how important those later ones are though.

Learning Skills were a pain but you saw a huge difference when you had 5/4, the refunded SP went into something similar for me.

I think I'm going to resub tonight and give it a go for a few hours this week. Thanks guys for enabling my old habit, I've already been told by my gf if I get too addicted again then she's holding an intervention and cutting off my internet access.

No kidding, I first started playing when it was recommended by some friends, so within a week or two of signing up i was in Delve during the FA's heyday. Baptism of fire that!

Then [5] for a bit, PL, UKCorp (which joined Circle of Two), back to PL - with some time "loaned out" to Ushra'Khan at some point, all a bit hazy, some small roaming gang style corps in between.

Give me a week and I'll hop back on as well.. :p

Weheeyyy :D Good man! Woman..! I don't know your gender! :D

I play Elite Dangerous, and Microsoft FSX, but Eve is more like a 2nd job, not a game.

I hear EVE actually isn't so bad anymore for that. There are people that treat EVE as a job and do actually earn a decent wad off it, but the casual player is a viable path again, now.

I really wish I could remember my old corp name :( All I remember is it was not an English name (but was vast majority mostly English members). Could've been Latin/pig Latin.

If you've still got access to the character, or remember their name then just look their info up in game and then go to Corp History.

Oh dear, memories coming back.. My old character was called Mr Motivator.. Oooh the shaaammmeee :( lol

I don't have access, I'd have to buy subs for that account too if I wanted to even try and get back in, would I not?

Yes but you can log in the Account Management page and then there is an option called "Hours for PLEX" which would give you 4 hours to log in to the character and move anything off there to the new one and get any details you wanted. Might be worth it just for any isk and assets you had, especially if you're starting fresh when money is very tight.

A) What is PLEX? I've seen it mentioned but not bought any.

B) Guess I'm gonna have to try and remember my old deets.

SHUT UP. WE DO NOT SPEAK OF THIS AGAIN! xD

this is considered abuse of the system - and they can and have disabled hours for plex from working again on accounts that do it

Its basically someone pays money for an item that represents a months subscription... these can be then sold/traded ingame and activated from within the client so if you are rich you play for free

In the situation that he's started again on a new account but might want the assets from the other one then I doubt it will matter much that he can't do it again. You can also petition it to get access again in case you "ran out of time" to get all the funds for the plex at the time or some other reason.

Would they not take issue with that, though? If I wanted to play again I ought to have reactivated my old account, no?

Besides, doubt I have much worth shifting. I was flying a Rifter back then (which I have again now via the tutorial) as I wasn't much of a combatant, I could get away quickly whilst they were still trying to get a lock on me, and I wasn't exactly rich. Also I doubt my corp will A) still exist and B) if it does, remember me. It has been nearly a decade since I played lol

Maybe if you were shifting billions or more isk and assets then they might care but for someone with basically nothing I doubt they'd notice. If you didn't have anything then I wouldn't worry about it, you'll make the isk back quick enough. It was just a thought in case you had more than a few million isk and could use the boost to starting up again.

Probably did have "a few million" but that would be it.. a few.. Not even in double-figures, I'd bet. I mostly mined, made ammo and couriered items from 0.9 (though I'm sure it was 1.0, is there no 1.0 space anymore?) to nullsec (since I was in a small enough ship to get away with it)

Not sure why they'd have an issue with it, EVE encourages multiple accounts.. just contact them and ask if it's allowed! they're generally friendly people.

Also, I'm male - much to the displeasure of the EduGeek masses..

They don't take issue in people making new accounts. The issue would be taken with someone using the 4 hour PLEX option to do anything other than apply a PLEX to their account.

Ah I was incorrect.

Taken from their website:

WARNING: Using the time to claim a Buddy Reward, to set skills, or transfer assets / ISK off the account is considered using this option incorrectly and abuse. Please do note that resetting of the "Hours for PLEX" is done out of good faith and abuse of this system will result in the permanent removal of this option for the offending account.

But.. it's one of those things - if you don't plan on using the account anymore you could take the risk.

Like I say, the corp likely doesn't exist anymore, if it does I'll have been booted out long ago, and nobody there will remember me as I wasn't exactly the head-honcho. I have no quarrel starting again, I'm not missing out on anything.

then go for it, they won't punish you in any way other than removing the option to use hours for plex on that account in the future so you have nothing to lose.

also...If anyone wants to take their chances in a big 0.0 corp/alliance hit me up and ill consider it... suspect corp history might void the offer though :p

you could look up the toon in game and see if its a member of a noob corp.

I have assets scattered throughout the galaxy :(

Nothing really to gain, either :p But I guess so. No harm in poking my nose in, if I can even wild-guess my account details..

Hm. Valid point.. I think I'll do that!

With all the discussion on this it makes me want to play again, god dammit! Hopefully my partner won't notice me spending every night on the PC lol.

DOOO IIIITTTT

I kept having to organise my assets a lot, I've spent a lot of isk on Red Frog couriers just getting everything back to a central location, usually Jita, when I couldn't be bothered moving the Orca around myself.
