Got to make my mind up soon (free GTA cash runs out soon) but not sure if I should get GTA on my new PC or Elite. Had GTA on xbox360 and PS4. Anyone played both?

I've stumped up the pre-order cash. Been waiting for it so long its ridiculous. Considering I didn't really like GTA IV, its been almost 11 year since a good GTA game!

Yeah I'm playing through GTA IV again in the run up to the BIG DAY, but last night I was thinking that I actually preferred GTA: San Andreas. I quite liked the Lost and Damned expansion tho. The best thing about GTA IV is the modding and driving around in cars I 'want' to drive around in, but somehow I managed to break the game and it wouldn't let me get past a mission where I had to use a TW@ internet cafe, it just wouldn't allow me to logon to the computer. In the end I had to restart the game again, then it worked. Meh!

TBOGT was far, far superior to the main GTA IV IMO. Reintroduced the fun and stupid missions. Wasn't so keen on TLATD, again too serious and miserable.

 

GTA V takes the same direction as TBOGT, but still a little too much 'serious' storytelling (and the language goes beyond being bearable - the script is dire). Good fun overall though.

I've got friends who play it on each platform, so I can easily see myself putting in enough time to make it worth it. Especially with the mods that are bound to follow the PC release.

Held off on Heists on the PS4, going to jump in on PC completely from scratch.

I'm the same, had it on the 360, the one and I say I won't, but I will end up buying it for PC, purely for the mods though. I was never able to play GTA IV again on a console after I played the PC version, just isn't the same!

Decided to risk it and pre-ordered the game through Nuuvem for £20.88. Bargain!

I pre-ordered my copy on steam when the pre-order was released in January, then pre-loaded it a few days ago. The only time I managed to get download speed from steam, Managed to touch 6.7MB/s.

It finished about 2 hours ago luckily! Just in time for my housemate to start downloading Dying Light.

 

No doubt there'll be a huge patch on launch day too...

Just picked up my physical copy this afternoon from Game. My connection at home isn't great and is even worse now the girlfriend has discoverd the smart TV can stream netflix. So i bought it. All 7 DVDs of it..! Is it unlocked yet?

Yup, it's all unlocked and playable! and it's beautiful, runs really well even on max settings.

I'm excited! Not sure if my system is up to the job though, if not i'll have to wait till end of the month till i can upgrade/play it!

i5 2500K

8GB RAM

Radeon HD 5770 (..the problem)

storage not an issue but not soild state.

Stuck in the office until 5, once I get home the download will start... Luckily I have a 200mbit connection so downloading shouldn't be too bad... provided the steam servers don't decide to get overflowed (which wouldn't be surprising considering the anticipation for quite possibly the biggest release of the year (and last).)

 

What's everyones plans for the release? Playing through the story first and aiming for completion before heading online or going straight through to the multiplayer and causing chaos?

Might have to finally join the steam group (I presume it's still somewhat active) so I have some buddies to cruise around the towns with.
