GrumbleDook Posted January 3, 2006 Posted January 3, 2006 Ok ... 'fess up ... who were the lucky bleeders to get video iPods? Anyone care to make the rest of us jealous with their pressie list? The only computer related stuff I got was a few accessories for my iPod Mini (case, car kit, etc) a few games (a year's subscription on World of Warcraft ... no time for EduGeek now ... got to lvl up!!!) and some DVDs/CDs. Oh yeah ... and socks ... again! How are they computer related? Well, the old ones are rolled into balls and get thrown at my mini-hoop when I get stressed because I have had to explain, again, why we don't allow *any* user to download exectuables in school!
Alex Posted January 3, 2006 Posted January 3, 2006 I got the GF a video ipod, regretted it since Christmas day as she hassles me to convert friends/Felicity/ER etc dvds to MP4 format :-/
SteveT Posted January 3, 2006 Posted January 3, 2006 Got myself a new rig for Christmas ............partner got me a mini scaletrix Bliss!!!!!!!!

GrumbleDook Posted January 3, 2006 Author Posted January 3, 2006 He gets a flippin' Mac Mini and complains that it is his only present!!!! If you don't want it you can always send it over here. ;-)

Vegas Posted January 3, 2006 Posted January 3, 2006 The wife got me a replica lightsaber, lights up and makes a fantastic noise. Also got a radio controlled Ferrari Enzo.....wicked.
Guest metalmonkey Posted January 3, 2006 Posted January 3, 2006 @ SteveT Lol, I also got the mini scaletrix. Got kind of boring after 30 minutes of it going around in circles. At that point I changes the polarity so one car went in the other direction. Two minutes of that and I felt sick.
Ric_ Posted January 3, 2006 Posted January 3, 2006 The only slightly-geeky pressie that I received was a digital photography mag from my Mum (and an X-Box game from my brother... he's the one with the X-Box not me!)
webman Posted January 3, 2006 Posted January 3, 2006 I got a mug, shirt and keyring all bearing the Tux penguin
indiegirl Posted January 4, 2006 Posted January 4, 2006 I got a Logitech wireless (RF) keyboard/mouse set (LX700 - I use them at work and find them comfortable and actually not bad on battery life), and a set of 2.1 Altec Lansing speakers from my OH. Not bad really... mind you, I did buy the OH a Nano (shyed away from the video iPod for the very reason that I'd have spent Boxing day converting everything). As usual, the OH's parents bought each other techie presents, one being a wireless router - and guess who spent the 27th December evening setting it up when I should've been in the pub???? Happy New Year everyone!
Jake Posted January 4, 2006 Posted January 4, 2006 I wanted a pair of Magical Trevor underpants, or a Toast King thong As it is, I will have to settle for the imminent birth of my first child in 3 weeks time. Not too shabby I suppose
ConTheITGuy Posted January 4, 2006 Posted January 4, 2006 I got a mug, shirt and keyring all bearing the Tux penguin ...and the geekiest pressie award goes to... Andy. (Back in work today hope everyone had a good christmas)
kevinmcaleer Posted January 4, 2006 Posted January 4, 2006 I got a nice black video iPod (60Gb). I'm shocked at how easily this things can get tiny scratches on them. Still very impressive though. I also got a DVB capture thingy from PC world (only £39), so I can watch freeview channels on my PC. Although this doesn't come with Mac software I purchased EyeTV (for Mac) from http://www.elgato.com which works perfectly with the USB thing. TV shows can then be saved as quicktime files for use on the iPod! So cool. -Kev
stitch Posted January 4, 2006 Posted January 4, 2006 The same here, I did not get any geeky presents either.
drjturner Posted January 4, 2006 Posted January 4, 2006 Did anyone get a couple of bricks in an xbox 360 box I heard they where being sent out from warrington. lol Dan
E1uSiV3 Posted January 4, 2006 Posted January 4, 2006 I didnt get any geeky presents per say, cus i bought myself a black ipod video a few months back (and a white one for the missus) and a mac mini bout a month after so im all geeked out lol I was chuffed about the mac mini tho, got it for the price of the base spec (the 400 quid one) but got the 1.42GHz one with 512MB RAM, superdrive, 80GB HDD bluetooth/wifi and modem, shoulda been 569 quid so i was chuffed Gotta love their 14 day no quibble returns policy, all that "refreshed stock" waiting to be bought got full "as new" spec and warranty on it all too Saying all that, i did get CoD for my mac (it runs bloodeh well too, i was suprised)
MkII Posted January 4, 2006 Posted January 4, 2006 Dug out the old Scalextric mini from a few years back to play with my 4yr old. Again - lasted but 5 minutes! heh! It feels like I turned into PC Santa over the hols - everywhere I went I was stuck at a PC [wouldn't have it any other way tho'!!! ] Happy whatevers everyone!
