Arthur Posted October 12, 2014 Posted October 12, 2014 Next Saturdays episode looks fantastic. The Doctor discovers a new menace from another dimension.
Alkaline Posted October 12, 2014 Posted October 12, 2014 Looks quite good, I have yet to watch past the first episode of this series, can't stand his companion.
sparkeh Posted October 13, 2014 Posted October 13, 2014 Loving this series, I liked Matt Smith but its refreshing to get away from the bouncy, jumpy quirky type Doctor for something more serious and darker. Peter Capaldi is great
LeMarchand Posted October 13, 2014 Posted October 13, 2014 Looks quite good, I have yet to watch past the first episode of this series, can't stand his companion. But she so pretty. I'm liking Capaldi as The Doctor, but while this season has been enjoyable enough I haven't loved any of the stories so far.
sparkeh Posted October 13, 2014 Posted October 13, 2014 But she so pretty. Agreed, when the wife and I watch it she keeps saying, "She's soooo pretty". I remain silent... 1
LeMarchand Posted October 13, 2014 Posted October 13, 2014 Agreed, when the wife and I watch it she keeps saying, "She's soooo pretty". I remain silent... You fool! The correct response is, "Nowhere near as pretty as you, my love." 1
sparkeh Posted October 13, 2014 Posted October 13, 2014 You fool! The correct response is, "Nowhere near as pretty as you, my love." To which my wife responds "What are you after?" *suspicious eyes* 1
fiza Posted October 13, 2014 Posted October 13, 2014 I didn't like this weeks episode at all. Moon was an egg, it hatched and then that creature laid another egg???? WHAT!!!! I like the new Dr but he needs better story lines!

I like the new Dr but he needs better story lines! That was last week's, this week's episode was about a mummy on the Orient Express and I rather enjoyed it
tmcd35 Posted October 13, 2014 Posted October 13, 2014 Personally I think the only real bum story was last weeks - "the moon is an egg". This weeks kind of wimpered out at the end but otherwise was pretty good. Capaldi is spot on as the Doctor. By far the best actor in the role since the reboot. He's gravitas, manner, meanness, etc does lend back to the likes of Hartnell and Tom Baker from the original run, which I like.
JJonas Posted October 13, 2014 Posted October 13, 2014 This weeks kind of wimpered out at the end but otherwise was pretty good. I find the reboot suffers a lot from this, they spend 50 minutes developing a good story and then it is all wrapped up far to quickly in the last ten minutes. This weeks was almost a case of blink and you will miss it.
Hefferzzzz Posted October 13, 2014 Posted October 13, 2014 Wish they would spend some money hiring a proper story writer and my god do the sets look cheap! Taken a while to get used to Capaldi but quite like his portrayal now.
fiza Posted October 13, 2014 Posted October 13, 2014 That was last week's, this week's episode was about a mummy on the Orient Express and I rather enjoyed it That's the curse of having Sky+. I watch everything on catchup.
6Foot2 Posted October 16, 2014 Posted October 16, 2014 BBC have released new footage from this episode: 2
sparkeh Posted October 16, 2014 Posted October 16, 2014 BBC have released new footage from this episode: Haha look forward to that
Vasriel Posted October 19, 2014 Posted October 19, 2014 Another episode about the assistant again. A brand new doctor and most episodes focus on her and not the doctor. Anyone else getting fed up?
6Foot2 Posted October 19, 2014 Posted October 19, 2014 Another episode about the assistant again. A brand new doctor and most episodes focus on her and not the doctor. Anyone else getting fed up? I thought there was some variation from other episodes this week: The Doctor wasn't sure what was going on The Doctor was, for a time, in peril depending upon the assistance on another
witch Posted October 19, 2014 Posted October 19, 2014 It seems to be always about the assistant. She saves the day more often than not, too. I hate it
6Foot2 Posted October 19, 2014 Posted October 19, 2014 (edited) Spoiler [select/highlight text below to read what has been posted] I thought that the Tardis in siege mode looked a bit like the Lament Configuration: Link: An image of an object from Saturday's episode http://i.snag.gy/U2rc8.jpg More spoiler text below: Or perhaps The Pandorica? http://i.snag.gy/jnuZ7.jpg Edited October 19, 2014 by 6Foot2 Remove spoiler image and replace it with a link to the same image.
sted Posted October 19, 2014 Posted October 19, 2014 Another episode about the assistant again. A brand new doctor and most episodes focus on her and not the doctor. Anyone else getting fed up? and tied up in about 1 minute at the point id assumed it was a 2 parter wasnt too bad to that point but they just seem to almost when writing say whoops we forgot to write an ending what can we fit into the shortest amount of time possible
Simcfc73 Posted October 19, 2014 Posted October 19, 2014 A lot of the series follow the same pattern... a strange location/story with a tease about a new enemy which fully appears at the end and al gets wrapped up. Do find this series a bit childish
LeMarchand Posted October 20, 2014 Posted October 20, 2014 @DaveP, I had both those thoughts. Given my username/avatar I tended towards the first, though!
rich_tech Posted October 20, 2014 Posted October 20, 2014 I agree, at the moment its formulaic - 40 minutes of building and 10 minutes of cheaply solving stuff, its like they wont dare stretch a semi-complex plot out over a few weeks of episodes, they used to do that all the time before the reboot, nothing has neared "The end of time/Day of the doctor" episodes, their still the pinnacles for me. Liking Capaldi, hes excellent, but their still putting too much slant and emphasis onto the assistants by far, Coleman isnt bad like rory/amy but she's having too much screentime for me.
