I really like the new doctor but Steven Moffat's storyline are poor (very stand alone) and normally get worse when he has to write sherlock, I preferred Russel T Davis story lines as they were multi threaded and cover multiple episodes (some times series) finally clicking in the finale.

Moffat has done complex, season long arcs - more or less everything around Amy, Rory & River Song - but everyone complained that "it was too complicated for the kiddies!" so he backed down. One more example in a long history of grown ups underestimating kids, I think.

 

I thought this and last week's (Mummy) were better than anything else this season thanks to the lack of gigantic plot holes, and we're starting to see some interesting nuances to the new Doctor; I liked the whole "lie to her, just get her here" in the Mummy episode, building him up as completely callous and cold, when really he was going to save her.

 

But they definitely wrap up too quickly. And did we really need his big cheesy speech in this week's episode?

Who is Missy and where is/what is The Promised Land?

 

Also The Doctor, post regeneration, questioned why he got 'this face' I think making reference to Caecilius in The Fires of Pompeii. However I may be reading too much into this?

... and who is Danny, Rupert, Orson Pink? I think that is why the latest series is focussing so much on Clara.

Yeah there is an arc to this series we just haven't had the strings drawn together yet

 

I too thought about the face thing and wondered if it was a joke or a telling comment. I also liked the "Are you my Mummy?" line

 

I am enjoying this series, this is a much more interesting Doctor than the last few.
