Anyone elses not working?

Proxy just goes to page cannot be displayed, and seamless just doesn't do anything.

Just got a text from them..

SWGFL Alert: An issue has been identified with internet browsing. We are working to resolve this as soon as possible. Ref: 4728723

Had a call from a member of staff staying internet was down.... "No it's working fine, likely the grid with an issue"... how right I was.

Thinking about having a big clock on the wall like in Pacific Rim and have it running between SWGfL Proxy issues.

Weighing up my options... Going to have to persuade SMT to dig a bit deeper as the best quote I can get is 2k more than our current contract with swgfl, even though it is a speed hike from 10mb to 100mb and uses lightspeed.

I think I'll start looking for alternative suppliers come March, once we are into our final year of the contract.

The price we are paying for our 50Mb fibre circuit and filtering might be cheaper elsewhere as so far the SWGfL have had far too many issues at the proxy farm since September. I know they are meant to be improving their filtering system but it might be a bit too little, too late.

Obviously I'll have to see where we stand with SecureNet, as I'm sure that's the only other SWGfL product we use after connectivity and filtering.

We've looked into the prices and we reckon we can save £7,000 per year moving away from SWGfL if we get a leased line from BT to supply 6 x SIP trunks and broadband down the same line. Technically its not quite just a saving on the broadband, its more a saving on both phones and broadband, but most of that saving is on the broadband. We've have already binned SWGfL, but they want £14,000 to terminate our contract. Therefore we break-even and have to find the £14,000 upfront, so we're counting down the days till we can give SWGfL notice of non-renewal of contract.

Regarding the primary schools we support, we're reselling a broadband service to them and they're paying half the amount than they were with SWGfL, often with better connection speeds.

I've been lookin at EFM which is £330 PM for 14Mbit (uncontended) but I can also go fiber up to 100mbit for £660 p month. They can if I wish still tie me in to swgfl.

If anyone would like to speak with any of our schools who have moved away from SWGFL or would like a quote, please send me a PM.

Thanks
