I suspect it'll be similar to why they've EOL'd TMG/UAG - Most UTMs/ Network kit include similar features.# I always thought it a bit of a PITA to configure and also, not really that worthwhile in the end - all you could do was limit a user based on a few criteria such as AntiVirus, Software Updates, Domain Membership..

DA is a facility to allow access to your network from internet connected clients, correct? So it follows that people who are going to want to use it are probably going to be using personal devices. Personal devices aren't going to be using the Enterprise version of Windows, they're going to be using Windows or Windows Pro. The average end user isn't going to be able to use Enterprise because it's only available to enterprises who have SA. This therefore limits the usage of DA to company owned devices only. I can just about see a use case for restricting it to Pro but limiting it to Enterprise is just plain daft.

Thinking about it though the PC needs to be joined to the domain, so a Home PC wont work unless they do an offline domain join (and then take the resulting text file to their Friendly Workplace Domain Admin) But they could have it as an option for the Professional SKU

Not anyone who has access to the internet. So the likelihood is that they will be running Enterprise. I suspect they surveyed Small and Medium businesses and found it not to be utilised and decided not to include it in Professional, perhaps in order to boost/as a result of the cloud solutions they are running with now. Having said that they may put it back in given how early this preview is.
