Al R.E.M. from MTV Unplugged '91. Trust me, if you haven't heard it yet you must be able to find on YouTube 1
StevieM Posted October 6, 2014 Posted October 6, 2014 R.E.M. from MTV Unplugged '91. Trust me, if you haven't heard it yet you must be able to find on YouTube Got that version on a bootleg CD I bought years ago. Mike Mills sings lead vox. The original version was by The Troggs, though. 1
StevieM Posted October 6, 2014 Posted October 6, 2014 Then there's the old Elizabethan song that actually is about socks Give Me My Yellow Hose A cautionary tale to all bachelors. (What can I say? I have wide-ranging musical tastes!) 1

Yep, music my parents dragged me up on! Mike Mills sings lead vox on a few songs and has quiet a good voice all things considered. Anyway, I best actually contribute something.... It's the end of the Sock as we know it... Your Sock (Elton John) Socks in Heaven (Eric Clapton) Sweet Socks (are made of these) (Eurythmics) Sock Me Out (Crowded House) 1

VeryPC Posted October 7, 2014 Author Posted October 7, 2014 Then there's the old Elizabethan song that actually is about socks Give Me My Yellow Hose A cautionary tale to all bachelors. (What can I say? I have wide-ranging musical tastes!) You say that, but I'm not sure if nothing but lute based ballads from 1570-1575 counts as a wide ranging taste... Al 1
hardtailstar Posted October 7, 2014 Posted October 7, 2014 (edited) I'm bringing socky back..... Justin Timberlake... Edited October 7, 2014 by hardtailstar missed typed 1
StevieM Posted October 7, 2014 Posted October 7, 2014 You say that, but I'm not sure if nothing but lute based ballads from 1570-1575 counts as a wide ranging taste... Al Perhaps not in the context of a single post, but given that it is sandwiched between the electro-acoustic stylings of REM (circa 1991) covering a 1960s classic by The Troggs, and Nirvana's grunge rock, I would say that my claim is validated. (And which song have I found myself singing/whistling randomly throughout the morning? Give me my yellow hose again, give me my yellow hose...) 2
