afc123 Posted September 22, 2014 Posted September 22, 2014 Our operations manager here has asked me to find a help desk system for the school which will encompass 7-8 departments (health & safety, painting and decorating, groundsman, housekeeping etc). I have had a play with Zoho and it works brilliantly but I wondered if there was any other options out there which you all use? Although Zoho is good the price is a lot so wondered if there was any alternatives. All the ones I see focus on a one department system. Thanks
andyturpie Posted September 22, 2014 Posted September 22, 2014 We use the one which is incorporated in to roombookingsystem - it allows to filter by department and is so easy to use. 1
FN-GM Posted September 22, 2014 Posted September 22, 2014 Have a look at request tracker. I believe its pretty good and flexible. 1

Thanks for that will look into. One of the things that drew me to Zoho was the web form some of the less technological users can submit via a web form with no logins etc. However trying to find a multi department web form helpdesk is proving impossible so far
unixman_again Posted September 22, 2014 Posted September 22, 2014 We use HESK and each department's help desk is on a different url. This isn't a problem as the various desks are liked from appropriate sections of the intranet. 1

Thanks for that unfortunately I cant get the FTP details of our website and it was designed and hosted by another company so can't put it online. Struggling to find a all in one solution, may just have to be 8-9 free zoho helpdesks which will make the ops manager happy when I give him 9 different login for the site!

synaesthesia Posted September 22, 2014 Posted September 22, 2014 OP Smartdesk here, set up currently for just SIMS support and ICT Support, although in the past it's had Media support and also queues for my primary schools too. 1
atechguy Posted September 22, 2014 Posted September 22, 2014 Ive just setup hesk for 5 schools i support. Each school has its own category via the school name. Working brilliantly for me

OP Smartdesk looks very good apart from you need a username to login but looks workable to use
synaesthesia Posted September 22, 2014 Posted September 22, 2014 Well that will go for a lot of systems - it will sync with AD so uses the same logon details as your network. No SSO yet though.
Jona Posted September 22, 2014 Posted September 22, 2014 We use Kayako - Kayako.com | Help Desk Software | Customer Service Software to do this, currently have two departments - IT & Works. Works use ticket types to designate trades (electrics, plumbing, decorating, etc). It has unlimited Queues, we are aiming to move more of our support departments onto it.
truebluesteve Posted September 22, 2014 Posted September 22, 2014 We use sitehelpdesk and have IT and Property on it and it works very well for what we need it for. Staff can either log calls via the web interface or email the helpdesk which automatically assigns it to the queue. http://www.sitehelpdesk.com
ADMaster Posted September 22, 2014 Posted September 22, 2014 I use webhelpdesk, it is only free for one tech though. It is multi department support, and each can have their own email address. Users can open tickets via email, or web page.
