newpersn Posted July 24, 2014 Posted July 24, 2014 We currently use Vision AV-1300/1301 around the site. But we are seeing some problems with a few with sound and the amp is at fault What amplifier would you recommend for classroom use. (Most speakers are Visions 1300)
laserblazer Posted July 24, 2014 Posted July 24, 2014 We have the same but the fallout is very high for modern electrical equipment at around 20% over 5 years. I've have been pushing for a standardised classroom system but the money's not available, so classes where the amp has failed are using any old domestic type amplified speakers I've been able to lay my hands on. And, there are no complaints. They are loud enough and easy to use.

Crumpet Posted July 24, 2014 Posted July 24, 2014 We had problems with a couple of Vision Amps, turned out that it was the Power Supply - PS casing was swolen, so i think some of the capacitors had popped inside.

True. They do struggle a bit in the O2 arena but the big advantage with PC speakers in classrooms is you don't get called out to turn the source selector knob. localzuk Posted July 24, 2014 Posted July 24, 2014 We've settled on Behringer MS40s for our classrooms now. Kinda pricey but they work very well in a classroom. No need for separate amp or line switching.

Yes, we still have DVD players as a back-up for when the PC dies, the servers won't log the users on, or the log-on process is measured in weeks rather than minutes.

Looking for something with a little more power They will also drive two sets of 8ohm speakers in 4ohm mode allowing you to have four wall or ceiling speakers for larger classrooms.
