Trapper Posted June 1, 2014 Posted June 1, 2014 And I can't get to sleep. Based on previous I expect to still be up watching crap at 2am. Anyone else have this at the end of a holiday? I always have, it's like I'm still a kid and want to make the holiday last...just...that...bit...longer!
X-13 Posted June 1, 2014 Posted June 1, 2014 Anyone else have this at the end of a holiday? I always have, it's like I'm still a kid and want to make the holiday last...just...that...bit...longer! Yup. Though I'm usually laying awake until about 3-4am thinking stuff over. The past few days have been ridiculous... I need a holiday to get over this holiday. 1
timbo343 Posted June 2, 2014 Posted June 2, 2014 Sometimes its best to write it all down as your brain is trying to organise it all. If you write dosn whatever you are thinking about your brain can then relax as you know that once you have noted it down its there for you in the morning so you dont need to mentally remember it. You'll possibly find that the stuff you are thinking about is normally blown out of proportain and really once you get to work it isnt really that bad. I often go through this and its usually around the 5~6am point where is wake up and start mulling things over.
ButterflyMoon Posted June 2, 2014 Posted June 2, 2014 Same here been awake since just before dawn!!!!! Head buzzing what all the what if's or unexpected meetings and carp to go through again!!
hardtailstar Posted June 2, 2014 Posted June 2, 2014 And I can't get to sleep. Based on previous I expect to still be up watching crap at 2am. Thats every day for me! Never been able to sleep for longer than 6 hours at night.
Pottsey Posted June 2, 2014 Posted June 2, 2014 Glad its not just me who gets that. 2nd night back to normal and 100% fine.
Vasriel Posted June 2, 2014 Posted June 2, 2014 Holiday? what holiday? Yeah what holiday? some of you guys just had a week off?
Tesla Posted June 2, 2014 Posted June 2, 2014 my clock takes about a week to adjust to having time off, and then yes, on the final day, my body does not want to go to sleep early
X-13 Posted June 2, 2014 Posted June 2, 2014 Yeah what holiday? some of you guys just had a week off? I had a week where I didn't go into the building [except one day, and it was BS]... but I wouldn't call it a week off.
sparkeh Posted June 2, 2014 Posted June 2, 2014 Nah, took a small child to Twycross Zoo, we were both zonked out dead early
abillybob Posted June 2, 2014 Posted June 2, 2014 To be honest with me I seem to sleep fine, for example when I go to work during half term I know there is no teachers or staff in so the stress and thinking process is halted and I sleep like a little baby. Although as soon as the Monday comes when I have to be in then 1. I know teachers will be nagging me as things always inevitably stop working (printers) 2. I'll have tasks that could have been easily done over half term but the staff forgot to tell me and 3. I have a job list that I've been trying to get through for months. Ugh bring on the summer!
witch Posted June 2, 2014 Posted June 2, 2014 I have trouble sleeping every Sunday night - wondering what is going on at work. Strange really because work isn't usually that onerous
cobra427col Posted June 2, 2014 Posted June 2, 2014 Honestly This has been the first time I've not lay awake for hours at the end of a holiday - even if I'd been in for most of it
Oaktech Posted June 2, 2014 Posted June 2, 2014 Things are getting better here from the 'laying awake at night' point of view now I have a massive new UPS, and a SAN an 3 new VMware hosts and Veeam and 2x 8tb NAS. But I'm not going to rest easy until we no longer have any of the crashy, unsupported, un-repairable RM DCs on the network any more. Basically, we don't have any support contracts with RM any more as they were a complete waste of time - RM were fixing less than 10% of the faults we reported to them, but if something catastrophic happened to a DC, because of it's RM-ness, despite having good backups, I'm not sure we could recover from it in a timely fashion.
