They have grey peas in Bilston (West Mids) where my wife hails from, which doesn't even get a mention on wikipedia! - her Dad's delicacy was 'pigs feet and grey peas' ...smelt disgusing apparently! :D

Russdev- welsh cakes are really easy to make and are really just a sort of scone cooked on a griddle - lots of recipes on google

lovely though!

I don't think we have any specialities other than Dorset Apple Cake down here - does anyone know?

Behave the lot of you

Anyone would think you are an unruly bunch of young, undisciplined men....oh, wait a minute............

No, Dorset Apple Cake is a cake with apple IN it, not ON it (or under it or whatever you like)

Apparently Dorset does have another speciality called..Rabbit Custard!!

Um...sounds yummy

John i agree with you there
Only Yorkshire men are allowed to eat it, that rules you out :p (Prepares for the next War of the Roses :D with round one in my sitting room with my dad being a Yorkshireman and my mum being a Lancastrian)

Carlins with neeps and tatties and a good old malt whiskey goes down a treat as do chittlins and pigs trotters. Also good for the soul tripe and onions with Brawn a close second.

eel pie and eels stewed in milk with rabbit stew mmmmmmm so full of goodness much better than mcdonalds.

Grandmother used to make all these at home (god bless her)

I'm glad I'm from Brum then! I can just sit back and watch the fireworks...

Although, a new war of the roses, which county borders would be taken into account? As they've changed shape a fair bit over the last few years...

The cardboard packaging from McDonalds is more neutritious than the food - so that's no hard! :D

Who else can we offend? ;)

Mcdonalds becomes a staple diet in the holidays here, because there's no canteen and there's a Mcdonalds just up the road. We also have a dominos pizza, burger king, KFC and an amazing sandwhich shop all less than a mile away, and a chipshop 3 minutes walk away. There's also a pub 3 minutes down the road too . . . .

redhot in sixfields in northampton is great :)

shudders @ mcdonalds - think id much prefer kfc or burger king to that any day. Although mcdonalds mcflurry icecream , milk shakes and there supposed healthy range that looks more unhealthy is quite good.

The mcmuffins arent too bad but it is mcdonalds after all.
