Ugh, just a bit worried now as I have heard some horror stories about their service. Didn't know eBuyer used them otherwise I would have thought twice! Any stories of yodel you guys are willing to share?

My wife ordered some Xmas presents and they were delivered by Yodel...when I say delivered I actually mean thrown over our side gate to lie there in the rain until she got home!

One book had minor water damage and a CD case was cracked but as that was for me she wasn't bothered...

Yodel - Home Delivery Network = Bunch of Idiots.

1. £400-worth of electrical bits and bobs from Amazon left in my greenhouse with no note through the door.

2. Parcel left on driveway wedged under the front of my car.

3. Parcel just left on doorstep in full view.

4. Parcel left in Red Recycling Box - fortunately not on the day the refuse collectors were due.

M U P P E T S ! ! !

we had a parcel thrown over the side door too. unfortunately the idiot throwing it couldn't see above the 8ft brick wall surrounding the door to realise it wasn't just a wall but backed on to the roof of the outhouse. it was only when they left a note saying "over back wall" we realised. so yeah thanks yodel, i didnt mind climbing on to a roof to get a package because you're too dense to realise you can't see through walls and know what is beyond them

Yeah we had a parcel left in recycling bin with no note. Got a surprise when I emptied the bins at night.

Xmas '12 I ordered a bunch of presents to school. They didn't turn up. Yodel insisted that that had delivered and left a card. After complaining they then said that they had left it with one of the residents down the road and left a card. They hadn't. After complaining again they said that they had been signed for at school but couldn't read the signature. Lies.

After a lot of wrangling, they were delivered on the last day of term. Driver said that the tracking showed they had been sitting around at the depot the whole time.

My SSD is being delivered by...

I knew the next word without opening the post xD

I hate YODEL :(

i can confirm i am not the one delivering the SSD!

It's an SSD! You'll be fine. No mechanical moving parts, after all ;)

When I ordered a fancier mouse and keyboard for my workstation - I spend enough time sat here, dammit, I deserve nice things too - it ended up being delivered by Yodel. Every day of that half-term I sat refreshing the tracking, waiting for my toys, only to get "Gate locked, will retry" every day. Complained and complained and had arguments with them about CCTV and eventually got the admission that they'd left the box sitting in the depot because they'd seen the school address and assumed no-one would be about in half-term.

EDIT:

Well at least it is solid state! No moving parts to bash together...

Great minds, eh? :nerd:

Weirdest courier experience I have had is when I was fiddling about out the front of the house when a beat up old Transit screeched into the drive at 45 degrees, the driver hurled a parcel out the window, floored it, screeching off again, narrowly missing a car, mounting the path and escaping through my neighbour's garden!

Stood there open mouthed, then wondered if he had just thrown a bomb at me.

It came safe and sound! Took out the HDD and old SSD and just using this one drive! Nearly installed Windows 7 on it *touch wood* it all works as it should :D

You guys must be really unlucky. Most of the stuff that I buy from Ebuyer (delivered by Yodel) I get sent to work, and I have had a few Saturday deliveries at home, and so far I have not had any issues... Must be certain areas??

To be fair its a good throw. If it was a Yodel guy that would have gone through a window.

If it was a Yodel guy it would have been from four times further away, over a 12 foot hedge, into the neighbour's garden.

We all saw this image bouncing around social media last week, right?

We had a delivery at 11pm one evening - a rusty, battered white van screeched to a halt, backed up, and parked half on the verge churning up the grass. A little old guy pops out with our package, smiles and hand it over to me without uttering a word and then screeches off into the night. Thanks Amazon for employing crazy sub-contracted people to do your deliveries!

That is class. Brilliant. No criminal would ever think of looking under that bucket.

I'm glad I am on paternity leave at the moment. I bought a couple of HDD's from dabs and they are being delivered by Yodel. Just hoping they don't deliver during the school run later today.

Edit. I just checked the delivery details and it turns out its coming via Royal Mail and cannot be tracked. :-( To be fair to Royal Mail we do tend to get the same driver each day and he has been very good.

Ordered a new GFX card from Ebuyer, parents not in twice so decide to ring up and set it for me collecting it at the weekend, go through automated phone system all happy. Drive to depot (approx 45min each way) wait 20mins as only 1 man on the desk. Get told it's currently out for delivery! Grr!
