visioN Posted January 22, 2014 Posted January 22, 2014 Hi, not sure which forum for this! So move if appropriate etc! Need a helpdesk suggestion please... Looking for an ITIL Helpdesk, Free, and can e-mail issues in and it automatically create the isssue log number. Anyone know of anything? thanks!
FN-GM Posted January 22, 2014 Posted January 22, 2014 We use Spiceworks, on the whole its good. Its free as well. 1
nikaso Posted January 22, 2014 Posted January 22, 2014 Spiceworks springs to mind, if your policies etc. are set correctly then it can be ITIL compliant 1
visioN Posted January 22, 2014 Author Posted January 22, 2014 Oh yeah looked at Spiceworks not to kean to be honest. I like the look and feel of Manage Engine ServiceDesk Plus but obviously this costs!
fairm010 Posted January 22, 2014 Posted January 22, 2014 Service desk plus is free for up to 5 techies. We used it here before HAP+. 1
visioN Posted January 22, 2014 Author Posted January 22, 2014 Thanks @fairm010 I didn't know it was free up to 5 techies!!
localzuk Posted January 22, 2014 Posted January 22, 2014 Request Tracker can be crafted to be ITIL compliant. It is a very capable system, free, and infinitely flexible. However, configuration is complex. RT: Request Tracker - Best Practical 1
rich_tech Posted January 22, 2014 Posted January 22, 2014 We have Spiceworks installed as an inventory system here and I use its helpdesk to log my work calls whenever I get a chance, would recommend it, but be prepared to have to turn about 90% of its functionality off when using it.
Disaster Posted January 22, 2014 Posted January 22, 2014 We couldn't get a Helpdesk off the ground here so just use email: helpdesk@school...
fairm010 Posted January 22, 2014 Posted January 22, 2014 No worries. We found it overpowered for what we needed and the Helpdesk in HAP+ is simple enough for our staff to love! Matt
bushby Posted January 22, 2014 Posted January 22, 2014 i use spiceworks here got it set up so that the staff only need to email helpdesk@... and they like it as far asim aware do also have a short cut set up on their desktop that goes to the helpdesk portal all setup with full email intragation
sippo Posted January 22, 2014 Posted January 22, 2014 Zendesk. It costs $20 for upto 3 'agents' but that goes to charity.
rickjames Posted January 23, 2014 Posted January 23, 2014 Also on the lookout for something; what's so good about Zendesk compared to the rest?
Nick_Parker Posted January 23, 2014 Posted January 23, 2014 We are using Help Scout, it's free for up to 3 users with 1 mailbox. We switched from Zendesk and are very happy with it.
DarrenShan Posted January 23, 2014 Posted January 23, 2014 I love ServiceDesk Plus, well worth the costs.
sippo Posted January 23, 2014 Posted January 23, 2014 Also on the lookout for something; what's so good about Zendesk compared to the rest? All web based and easy to configure. Migrates with E-Mail and informs requester when call is created, updated and resolved. We needed something very very easy to use, and Zendesk does this perfectly.
plexer Posted January 23, 2014 Posted January 23, 2014 Zendesk. It costs $20 for upto 3 'agents' but that goes to charity. Is that for the starter edition? Zendesk Pricing | Plans starting from just $1 a month Ben
sippo Posted January 23, 2014 Posted January 23, 2014 Yeah, looks like they've changed their pricing now. Still cheap though.
