11mile jaunt around Swindon yesterday with some slow runners to look at the route for next weeks Swindon Half Marathon. New route through the town.

Did the Severn Bridge HM today. Really enjoyed the start on the old Severn bridge. Very undulating route with a very big uphill bit around mile 6. Heat took it's toll on me but finished OK.

Dublin Half Marathon completed on Saturday. New venue/course. Lots of traffic issues meant the start was delayed.

Tougher course but completed in 2:04.

Done Windsor Half a week ago.

Done the distance a few times beforehand training and not flat route but my legs were like jelly after this one. Hottest day of September and route was a bit hilly, time 2:03 not my fastest but enjoyable.

group of us went down to Bournemouth this weekend. Most competing in the 10k on the Saturday. The lass who I started C25K with completed her first marathon on the Sunday which was great to see.

I ran in the HM on the Sunday; was hoping to get under 2 hrs this time as my speed has been getting back to normal but ended up with a time of 2:04:29.

just getting to the end of the year and reviewing miles on Garmin and Strava.

Garmin has me at 952miles run this year.

Strava has me at 1443 miles walking, running and cycling (not much done this year).

A few runs lined up for December as well as the usual walks to/from work so should be able to up them to over 1000 and 1500 respectively :-) This wasn't a target for the year but might be something I think about next year.

I'm going to target 1000 miles running next year. Managed 400km this year but only started running in June. Now addicted so hopefully I can pull off the 1000 miles

First run in ages last Fri, only 2.5k and as before struggled to pace myself. Completed in 20 mins so reasonably happy! Want to push it back to 5km running for the duration. Next aim after that is to push up to 10k! Off for another tonight!

I always have an issue pacing myself. Trouble with me is if I start to fast I don't like slowing down.

The best I have done with the aid of a training device on a half marathon training run was warm up mile of 9:30 then managed 8:25/8:30 for the half marathon distance.

My issue at the moment is recovering from hip injury and recovering from a Chest infection. Can't wait till back to fitness levels again at the moment struggling to do a 10K at 8:40 pace

Went out in the snow on Tuesday which was a bit of fun. I didn't struggle, managed to pace myself and lungs/legs seemed just about okay (I needed to encourage myself towards the end, anyone else talk to themself?!)

Was planning on going out tonight but don't think conditions will allow!

Yes, I talk to myself all the time when exercising - just lately though it has been whilst walking in the freezing cold with the dog :)

Was out for a long run on Sunday and felt the cold. Went out and got a new pair of leggings which were supposed to be used last night but I wimped out - far too cold and slippy.

Supposed to be going to Cyprus with the running group on Saturday to run on Sunday - only entered the 10k as I don't like running in the heat. Irony there somewhere I think.

if you talk to yourself when running are you a Jog Whisperer?

Went out with a friend in the rain yesterday and down an old disused railway track near us. Loads of puddles, wet feet about 5 mins in. Pushed the distance a bit and did 4.15km in just over 30 minutes which I'm happy with! Couple of weeks and I'll think about going along to the local park run, have a few friends that would be happy to go. Find it reasonably humbling that 2 of the people I go out with have done marathons (one's done an iron man) but are more than happy to sit at my pace and listen to me groan about doing short runs with them!

I've found accomplished runners some of the most accommodating people to train with, I suppose it's because they have nothing to prove and just enjoy running. Don't get much boasting from them. So glad I discovered running last year, wish i'd started sooner.

completed the Paphos 10k event on Sunday. Ran with the wife and managed to help her get a new PB despite the heat.

The free beer afterwards was very welcome - nicely re-hydrated by 11am :o
