BTW do you all know Bounts? You earn points for runs, cycling, swimming, gym sessions, steps on your Fitbit etc. I've earned the odd Amazon voucher with them - takes a bit of time to earn one but it's all freebies :)

http://www.bounts.it (I have a referral code which gets us both some extra free points, PM me if you'd like it - hope it's OK to mention that).

Ah shame, would love to share my runs with you but I'm on Garmin, MapmyRun and Bounts - not sure I can justify Strava as well!

I was a bit hesitant to go onto Strava as I'm on TheRunningBug, TheCyclingBug, Garmin, FitBit and Bounts. I've got the Strava data linked to my GarminConnect account so don't actually do anything extra to get the data onto Strava. The GarminConnect segments feature doesn't seem to be working whereas the Strava one does.

Strava synchronises with any runs you put on Garmin, also you will love the segments and leaderboards on strava great for motivation if ya need it :-) (not to mention kudos and social aspect of it)

Nice little 5km last night, trying to up the pace now....operation sub 50 minute 10km has started :-) 5 weeks to go until the Great Manchester Run :-)

Best of luck; I've not been out at all this week due to a combination of sore knees and throaty cough. I hope to get something in over the weekend.

Milton Keynes Marathon completed yesterday - 4hrs 32mins 28secs; 2mins 40secs slower than last years Dublin Marathon.

Managed 9minute miles for the first 14miles and then started to slow up. Mile 24 was the slowest at 12:48 at which point I started to speed up again and managed a bit of a "sprint" in the stadium finish. Shattered and sun burnt.

Nearly 3 years since starting a Couch to 5k where running 50metres was a big ask.

To come so far in such a short space of time is an incredible achievement! Really well done!

Had to take a bit of enforced time off following the half marathon, my legs have taken longer to recover than I had expected. So even though my head is telling me to go for a run, I've had to take a full week off sport.

Started again over the weekend with a nice easy 6.3km (average pace 5 minutes 58 seconds) and then out again last night for another 5km, average pace of around 5 minutes 30 seconds. 2 weeks to go until the Manchester 10km, I don't think a sub 50 minute run is achievable due to the enforced time off, but it will be used as a stepping stone for my summer running with the aim of doing the Wigan 10k at the beginning of September in under 50 minutes.

Does Strava hook into endomondo at all?!

You can use a Web service on tapiriik.com to synchronise activities between different fitness apps 😀

My road running is going ok. Ran a road PB of 5.31 and a pace of 9.27 min/mile. Happy with that.

Completely different to trail running. Although trail running is probably harder I could go on forever with that.

I've been having a few issues with my left knee since my half marathon, quite weird really, you can feel it building as you run and then it clicks and it's really painful and does these really painful clicks if you carry on running (nomrlaly can get to about 5km before it clicks), so I've had a lot of resting the last couple of weeks and very little running.

Having had a week off, I went out last night and did 7.1km pain free (5 minute 43 second km's as well) :-) Absolutely delighted to have got so far without any problems. Fingers crossed I should be ok for the Manchester 10km a week on Sunday now :-)

Living down in Cornwall I have started to do a lot of trail running this year in preparation for a long distance race in a months time. It is much harder to run on than your average road race but I find it much more rewarding. You have to pay attention all the time as the ground is uneven or in my case you might fall off a cliff. I find on the road I can get bored and stop paying attention.

I would reccommend trail running to anyone who might be losing motivation on the road. Plus it doesn't take as big a toll on your knee / hip joints.

Amen to that.

Trail running is brilliant. Especially when it is chucking down with rain! Love it.
