We realised that unscrupulous non education customers who find out about it might create an EduGeek account and claim to work for a school in an attempt to take advantage of the saving despite not qualifying for it. I clearly have a real prolem with the world problem (corrected now) - thanks for that. However we're now showing off the new online shop (shop.very-pc.co.uk) rather than the main company website (www.very-pc.co.uk).

The real point is a discount for those who work in education IT, so you can personally benefit from the same great prices as your school, but we also want to say thanks to the EduGeek users (both active and passive) for being such a great community and communication tool for us too. We won't differentiate between someone with 1,000 posts and a pure lurker with 0 posts, as long as they work in education IT.

Replied - Not that I have the £££ currently but was asking more out of general curiousty. Hopefully 8gb of RAM, 240gb or 512Gb SSD ( was thinking Samsung 840 Pro or possibly an Intel SSD ), Reasonable CPU and Mobo and wanted most of the money to go on the Graphics card ( whatever is better between Nvidia or AMD / ATI )

I'm still in two minds about getting a small laptop for the front room to learn coding and play indie games (which also means more time with the Mrs!). I was comparing the 14" and 15" Thinbooks (both customised with i5's and 120GB SSD's) and am confused as the 15" build is cheaper then the 14"? I've been through the spec and the only difference is the screen size. Am I missing something?

Hi @Rawns, I can help you here. The 14" is out of stock until early March (I've asked if we can show this on the web store to avoid any unnecessary disappointment), and price wise, the cost of 14" screens is more expensive than 15" screens at the moment explaining the price difference.

 

The 15" Thinbook has an additional USB 2.0 port, a numeric keypad, and a fantastic screen resolution upgrade making the difference in specification though, so in my mind the 15" represents pretty awesome value for money. If you want to play games, I'd recommend the 15" with IPS screen matey.
