jamesb Posted November 25, 2013 Posted November 25, 2013 Nope, he transferred all his regeneration energy into the hand as it was the same biology as him. Thus allowing him to remain as himself. Hence the hand and Donna having a Human-Timelord biological Metacrisis One second though, during the whole Gallifrey timey-wimey, freezing in a moment of time, cheating fate moment - didn't the head of the Gallifreyan council say 'No, all thirteen of them' while looking at the different representations of the doctors? Surely that'd mean there's one doctor we haven't seen yet - and that's not the type of slip Moffat would make by mistake.
Rawns Posted November 25, 2013 Author Posted November 25, 2013 (edited) One second though, during the whole Gallifrey timey-wimey, freezing in a moment of time, cheating fate moment - didn't the head of the Gallifreyan council say 'No, all thirteen of them' while looking at the different representations of the doctors? Surely that'd mean there's one doctor we haven't seen yet - and that's not the type of slip Moffat would make by mistake. Peter Capaldi is the 13th. He was in the episode for about a second at the end with the other 12 Doctors when they were TARDISing it up around Gallifrey: Edited November 25, 2013 by Rawns
clareq Posted November 25, 2013 Posted November 25, 2013 The thirteenth was Peter Capaldi - at least it was his image they showed immediately after that line was spoken.
E_G_R2 Posted November 25, 2013 Posted November 25, 2013 So anyone counted how many TARDIS were onscreen then?
jamesb Posted November 25, 2013 Posted November 25, 2013 So anyone counted how many TARDIS were onscreen then? No, but I think I need to rewatch it and start counting. 1
ICTDirect_Dave Posted November 25, 2013 Posted November 25, 2013 I don't think this dailymail 'reviewer' liked it Doctor Who's 50th anniversary episode reminds us why Matt Smith and David Tennant were so irritating | Mail Online
3s-gtech Posted November 25, 2013 Posted November 25, 2013 Tea and Kittens. The Mail can insert itself where it ought not be inserted.
jamesb Posted November 25, 2013 Posted November 25, 2013 I take it as a general sign that approving of something is good whenever the Mail disagrees. 2
HaleStorm Posted November 25, 2013 Posted November 25, 2013 Yeah normally I find, if the Mail don't like it, it's generally not that bad or quite good
ICTDirect_Dave Posted November 25, 2013 Posted November 25, 2013 Agreed! I did make me laugh how throughout the whole article the writer was deliberately writing to annoy rather than inform.
sparkeh Posted November 25, 2013 Posted November 25, 2013 One of the Mail's main gripes was that it was on at the same time as the X Factor. Given that I would rather stick pins in my eyes than watch that garbage I was happy with the timing
Garacesh Posted November 25, 2013 Posted November 25, 2013 given that re-writing history (stopping The Titanic, saving Pompeii, killing Hitler) is the one thing The Doctor is always telling his companions he can’t do. Except he didn't save Pompeii. Or kill Hitler. Geez, Daily Mail. Get it together.
6Foot2 Posted November 25, 2013 Posted November 25, 2013 Except he didn't save Pompeii. Or kill Hitler. Geez, Daily Mail. Get it together. He didn't stop The Titanic for that matter [well not the 1912 one anyway...]
bladedanny Posted November 25, 2013 Posted November 25, 2013 Who is this doctor you all speak of? Yes, yes it is. 3
GREED Posted November 26, 2013 Posted November 26, 2013 Now I am often the worse one for not just enjoying a show for what it is, which is what I did here by the way, but that daily mail (who I hate with a passion by the way!) Really does make me laugh and puke at the same time... It was fun, intriguing, answering, questioning, and brilliantly acted most of the way through... it was an anniversary special. And felt like a stand out feature length. Stop bloody moaning!!
Arthur Posted November 26, 2013 Posted November 26, 2013 daily mail The link @fiza posted was from The Daily Mash (the UK's equivalent of The Onion).
sparkeh Posted November 26, 2013 Posted November 26, 2013 The link @fiza posted was from The Daily Mash (the UK's equivalent of The Onion). Sure, but I think @GREED is referring to the Daily Mail article linked earlier.
