Also thank God support staff get to go in immediately at 12; the noise of junior school children would drive me through several walls.

Yeah I make sure I get in early too, not for seating as we have a staff room but to avoid the stream of kids ambling around the canteen not looking where they're going with full plates of food in their hands!

Wednesday here is usually 'roast dinner' day, so today is gammon or a chicken breast with tagliatelle. I will have the former.

 

One issue I've been at loggerheads with to the catering committee is over desserts and more specifically the use of custard; it's boring and outdated but apparently the kids love it which they clearly don't as when I leave I often see the young ones come in with a dry pudding (alongside often a plate of just dry pasta and some bread, woof). Also milk in the common room is water.

 

I've been away for the last 3 1/2 weeks but the school seems to have a new evening chef in as well, had an enchilada (he said it was a burrito but I know my Mexican) last night which wasn't too bad.

Check out my latest "portion" of wedges. That's a 500ml bottle of water for scale NOT a 1L bottle.
