Well got Pokemon bank yesterday and it was nice to get some older pokemon up to my X game but does anyone find it weird that you can only transfer from box 1 from the older games?

 

Though it's a good way to trade pokemon from X to Y I have found.

Sorry to barrel in here like a drubken uncle but would you chaps be so kind as to summarise any game breaking bugs still in the game to look out for? Daughter wants X for her birthday, as she's 10 she's unlikely to have read up on any bugs (wouldn't cross her mind to)

List of glitches in Generation VI - Bulbapedia, the community-driven Pokémon encyclopedia

 

From what I can see, there's only 1 game-breaker. [ Lumiose City save glitch - Bulbapedia, the community-driven Pokémon encyclopedia ]

 

But, there's a patch for it.

I found a weird glitch, I transfered a few pokemon to me X copy and I noticed that one of my pokemon's name had changed to the male gender symbol, I had not changed it's name it was it's default name. Any one else find this happening to them?

Thanks @X-13 (I'd rep you but apparently I need to spread the love around a bit - who knew @Dos_Box and @ZeroHour were polygamists? :p)

 

I know what a dumb question this is before I even ask, but here goes: I'm assuming that patches come in the form of automatic updates on the 3DS? i.e. you don't have to go to some website to download them, it'll simply inform you an update is available then download and apply it automatically?

Provided you are connected and you have set your 3DS to autoupdate games then yes, it should just download the patch when connected to wifi.

 

Isn't that only for the 3DS system updates?

 

The games just say an update is available. [if you refuse it, all the online parts are disabled.]

When I tried to launch Pokemon X it informed me that there was an update and wouldn't load until I downloaded it. It now says I'm on Pokemon X 1.1. lol

Also...look what I picked up off that dirty dirty Wonder Trade system: Pokérus - Bulbapedia, the community-driven Pokémon encyclopedia Time to start incubating and spreading this around as it is meant to be quite rare! Who wants to trade when I have started "breeding" the virus?

 

Catch a :censored:tonne of pidgeys, zubats, caterpies, magikarps, anything that's got a 255 catch chance. and infect them all, slam them in your PC box as 'carriers'

Send one out on the Wonder Trade every now and again, just to be nice :D

I got up to the fights before Xerneas... then imminently lost hype.

 

I felt like restarting, but A) I don't want to lose my MegaTorchic and Celebi and B) Pokemon gets to be a boring grind fest if you want to switch 'mons about.

Yeah I too haven't played PKMN in a few months, I started playing Ingress (until I got banned), then I went on to Travian (which I'm now playing most the time atm). I do keep meaning to revisit my little 'mons, honest! Maybe if I make myself an objective to complete the National Dex by the end of the month then it'll spur me back into action.

 

I got up to the fights before Xerneas... then imminently lost hype.

If you want to restart I'm happy to look after your torchic/celebi and any 'mon you want to keep then trade back later ;) Yeah I know what you mean it does seem slower to level them up in X/Y I used to be able to make L100s over a weekend, certainly in the last gen.

 

 

Hmm, all this talk of PKMN is making me want to have some battles! :D

Honestly I found X/Y too easy which is why I haven't revisited it yet. Maybe once I've Nuzlocke'd SoulSilver I'll re-visit Black, and then after that I'll play Y again.

Needed a break from Pokemon after failing to get a shiny pokemon via masuda method, been play SWTOR online at the moment but thinking about jumping back on it soon.

Oh yeah just remembered, I need to raise my shiny Charmander into a shiny Charizard Y :D I managed to breed one, but totally forgot I had it.

 

I really need to import my competitive battling teams over in to X, especially now that Ninty are cancelling all 'online' services for the Wii and DS. Even though my favorite battles have been face to face, we can kiss goodbye to Online Tournaments for previous gens. :(

OK how random is this, I get back home to find a letter sent to me from the Pokémon Company in America. Enclosed are a few PKMN energy cards - tho I never play the card game. But how bizzare! And how'd they get my address, spooky.

I can't remember how many eggs it took, I barely remember breeding it, but it's got my name attached to it as the Original Trainer, so I must've bred it. I vaguely remember that it wasn't that many eggs, something like 20-30 or so, bred with a Japanese Ditto. Sorry to be so vague.

 

 

 

Well I've been gone and done it now, last night I shamelessly raped my PKMN White + White 2 cartridges Now I have 50 level 100 Pokemons to play with. Of course the downside is I'll never again be able to battle with them in W/W2, which is a bit of a shame 'cos I won't be able to have incidental Wireless/IR battles with friends using my 3DSs/DSi anymore. :( Oh well that's progress, I suppose. On a plus side it's much easier to build teams with them all in one place - living in my new 3DS XL. :)

Been doing a lot of battling in the Battle Mansion, got up to 39 consecutive wins in super singles :D

 

I'm pretty narked by the change to the game mechanics to do with weather effects being non-permanent, i.e. when brought about by a PKMN with a sandstream ability (such as Hippowdon/Tryanitar). Its completely messed up my Sand Storm team now and my favourite little Sand Rush Excadrill physical sweeper gets totally caught with his pants down when the sandstorm suddenly stops! Meh! Oh well back to the drawing board I guess.

Decide to start my Y "adventure" again with a bit of a challenge, I'm only going to be used Pokemon that I am given (via story\random people\trades) to try and make it more intresting.
